this is it, the senate failed to pass the new tax proposal of Sen. Recto. The BIR ruling will finally be implemented. All the AUV prices will increase by as much as 50%. A Crosswind for 1.2 mil, anyone?

wala bang chance na ma-rescind yung ruling later on? like when the senate goes in session again, can they make a ruling reverting the taxation rules prior to today? that way, consumers can wait-and-see what happens. but in so doing, lahat ng vehicle purchases will be on-hold. kawawa ang mga manufacturers, walang benta. wala tuloy revenue ang govt. haaay...

The rest is history, pending pa din yong Senate and House Bill, meanwhile Camacho's tax system will start tom, June 6... Asa pa syang may makolektang tax

Osmena, not the in-between :D , is still proposing a compromise -- gawing 600T ang base from 500T and gawing 2% ang tax instead of 3%

So, saklaw nito ang Vios, City and Mitsu's L300 and Isuzu's IPV...

    Yup, may pagasa pa.

I think they are merely testing how the market will react to the new revenue regulation just to validate their simulations on how much will be the actual versus estimated vehicle sales given the new rules. Pag nakita nilang wala nang bumibili ng AUVs, they might reconsider resurrecting Osmena's and Recto's bills.

Kaya lang nga yung next session nila is late next month pa. And since its nearing election time, mukhang mag chachacha muna sila or focus on other more popular bills before they tackle the revised automotive excise bill.
