Leaf springs don't sqeak, its the bushings that does the squeaking sound. Repack your leaf bushings with grease. If you find the inner diamater worn out, replace with new ones. Preferably with inner metal shims.

Leaf springs make grunt metal to metal sound, lalo na kung over torqued yung center bolt. It should not make any sound by shaking. Unless may putol na leaf inbetween?
ano ba tamang torque ng centerbolt? I have an Adventure also. thanks.Originally Posted by Ungas

It can be normal for them to make some sounds. You can grease the bushings or check if the pads between leaves are worn down.

If you have to replace the bushings, i'd suggest you get OEM... Based on my experience, the replacement bushings don't last too long.

And yes putting some used oil on the leaf spring will removed that squeek sound kaso nga lang so untidy to look at.
Thanks for the feedback... baka kasi paranoid lang ako... but now, I feel more convinced that I need to have it checked... under warranty pa naman si Seth...
that is why new technology leafs have graphite coating, and teflon pads in the ends to prevent squeaking.
yes rubber bushings from tires are durable, but it has its draw backs, it does not absorb impact as well as rubber ones and for 4wds it will not flex as much.
also sometimes they are made too thick that when you tighten the shackles it makes them hard to move making the ride stiffer also. go with poly bushings if you want.
Yep, polyurethane bushings are the way to go. They are more durable than your traditional rubber bushing (kasi mas dense at masmakunat yung texture nya). Most of them come with metal inner shims. I have even seen some bushing kits also with outer metal shims. I think many 4x4 suspension tuning shops carry them as regular itmes.
what i do is spray WD40 sa leafsprings, pero ang nag-squeak sa revo namin minsan is yung rubber bushings between the chassis and the body nung inalog ko hehe..
