I dont think there are any disadvantage unless manipis na ang rotor mo which is very unsafe to drive.

    IMHO ko lang

If done improperly, it could result to more pedal kickback. It could also result to rotor cracking kung masyadong manipis ang nagawa ng talyer.

Its not only because of more pedal kickbacks, Disc cracking, Gastos at iba pa.

?Ayun pati caliper nag-lock. He ended spending more instead of replacing a simple part which is the ROTOR. Maintenance items yan so dont take any short cuts.

    just my 2 cents

Every rotor has a minimum thickness embossed or stamped on it. Measure with a micrometer or dial-caliper... if below minimum, do not re-surface or machine. Drums have max inner diameter. Do not re-surface or machine if this spec is exceeded.

Drums and rotors must always be re-surfaced or machined whenever new pads or shoes are installed. Even with brand-new drums and rotors, light sanding or polishing with emery cloth is needed before installation. This will ensure even wear and proper friction pad contact.
