is it ford ranger, l200, fuego, frontier, or hilux? out of d question na ang performance and features. pwede kasi na maganda performance at mga features pero madali naman masira mga parts resulting sa high maintenance cost.

IMO HI-LUX if durability and reliability lang ang pag-uusapan.. Reliable Engine, not too much HP but it gets things done, you will not race your pick-up naman di ba? madali rin ang piyesa nito at very affordable (tagal na kasi sa market nang engine na ito) Body is quite solid, medyo makapal and good toyota quality coat. Yung kababayan ko na me construction supplies back in the 80's pang deliver nila yung Hi Lux nila, wala pang masyadong bedliners noon, tsaka napakamahal pa, his bedliner was just a piece of plywood imagine a hollow blocks, iron bars, drums and other construction material on the bed with not so much protection, until now buhay pa ung hilux nila, same body and bedliners pa rin although napa-repaint na nila without much body works except changing the tail gate because it was torn into 2 piece by the bach hoe daw....wala na raw paglagyan nang gasgas kaya kelangan na nang bagong pintura...hehehe

Parts are everywhere also because its 4d56 engine is in the market already for more than 2 decades na yata.. reliable engine also, although marami ang nagrereklamo na madali daw umusok...

Nissan - madaling kalawangin ang bed, medyo manipis yata ang body nito eh..(although marami nang pwedeng gawin dito ngayon for extra added protection, nice engine though very reliable and not too noisy, medyo pricey daw yung parts compare to the other two depending on the type of engine)

Fuego - andaling mag-rattle nang body connections and cabin parts dahil sa sobrang engine vibration, medyo hindi rin maganda ang bodypaint nito, (di ko alam kung ilang coating but sabi nung friend ko na me fuego, na-scratch daw minsan yung sidings nya, not too deep but you can already see the base paint or primer coating.. very reliable engine being the only direct injection in its class rt. now, downside is maingay at napakalakas nang vibration if idle...nung natrapik kami non nung barkada ko, pakiramdam ko eh nakalog pati yung hintutuli ko sa kaba-vibrate for almost an hour...dapat me malakas kang sound sa loob w/matching boom box para hindi ka ma-annoy sa ingay nang makina.

Ranger - cannot comment...wala pa akong feedback dito. wala kasi akong kaibigan na meron nito at the moment...

I am scouting for a pick up previously kaya panay ang research ko, kaya lang mukhang mabubulilyaso yata dahil may property na inofer sa min, if ever I am still going to buy one, I will contact you, I might settle for a second hand kapag ganyan ka-sariwa...

bakit mo binebenta yan? parang nakakapanghinayang na kargahan nang mga goods yang likod nyan ah...pweding pang-camping yan eh...me instant bed ka na agad, no need for a tent...hehehe

any more pics of your Strada? you can email it to me if its too big to post at 5Speed*tsikot.com. I cannot decide rt. now if we're to acquire an another ride...

    tnx boss woodfire..

    - haha sir hero nasabak pa nga sa river crossing yun 1x eh, 4x2 lang un... power pick up. kasi nasira un bridge. d naman ganun kalalim pero nastuck sa bato..tinulak pa, pasok na tubig sa interior and all takbo pa din, wala din un snorkel, stock lahat. wala lang bilib lang ako... basta wala akong bad experience sa nissan.

un isuzu highlander xtreme(boxy type) namin naman sa province din naglock un brakes dunno why...while running nag lock bigla ang brake. i think 2 to 3 years old palang un. gabi pa... hiway sa mindanao hehe

5Speed, thanks for that comprehensive listing. anyway, i have the tendency to pick hilux since i'm a toyota fanatic but i'm still open for advise. totoo ba yung nababasa ko sa mga international website about the cylinder head cracking of hilux? meron na ba ganitong case dito sa atin na alam nyo?

zidjian ..are you looking for a new one or second hand? 4x4 or 4x2?

you got to check out the Isuzu DMAX. Ang lupit ng engine!

We had a Toyota Hilux 4x2 1999 and sold it last 2002. Imagine that a 4 year old pickup and by the time we sold it the mileage was 400,000+ km! It's very reliable. I think the engine was overhauled once. Taas pa resale value. kahit ganun mileage we were able to sell it for 180t

We got another hilux J series last year... ngayon wala pang isang taon 80t km na mileage! hehe... sulit na sulit gamit nito.
    hehe
Interior is a bit cramped though.

If i were to get a pickup i'd choose the Isuzu Dmax second yung Ford ranger and 3rd would be a strada. Masyado maliit kase yung Hilux.

    Woodfire,
ano size nung BFG tires mo? that's a nice strada!

from Pangasinan to Aparri...

Very reliable talaga Toyota that's the reason why my parents got another Hilux instead for looking for other brands.

If I have to exaggerate nga, tanggalin na lang ang kaha tapos lagyan ng monoblock ang driver seat over the chassis okay pa e. I guess that makes the isuzu chassis and engine very reliable.
Is that because the engine vibrates too much at nag wear na ang body sa kakavibrate ng makina?

But I have a crosswind di naman ganun ka-vibrate.

OT: Sa Nueva Ecija daming Frontier dun na tumatakbo, meaning maraming may Frontier. Bakit kaya?

Yup, the Strada is still in the market but I am still working on the transfer of ownership from my previous employer to my name.

the suspension was tweaked already (old man emu leaf springs, dobbinson torsion bars, bilstein shocks for front and rancho rs9000 for rear) and engine too (K&N open filter and turbo boost controller).

    Sir Woodfire,
I was constantly texting you to inquire about the Strada. We are really interested in it. Please PM me naman if you are still selling it. Thanks.
