If your trooper has 7in wide rims then 265/70R16 is the max width you can use safely but this will also increase rolling radius by 14mm or 28mm overall diameter so taller gearing and the speedo will be off by about 8% only.

Ungas: tnx for your comments. Galing!
Mauler: kala ko kasi 17 inch yung rims mo.
jackaroo: oo nga no. DI ko na consider yun but I think I can live with that. T.Y mga friends! Now I just need 20K):

Sizes from a yokohama price list:
    1) Geolandar AT 2+
    275/70R16 P5900
    LT265/75R16 P5700
    2) Geolandar HT
    265/70R16 P4475
    255/70R16 P4340

Think the max width for 7" rims is 265. What was the original tire size?

According to some of our tsikot friends, they claim Pirelli's are much stiffer which is composed of harder compound. Less resistant to wear.

Kaya naman yan. I fitted a 33x12.5x15 = 285/70R15 to my stock Nissan rims 15x7.

Don't be lured by the brand itself, they may claim their prestige in sedans but not in the bigger vehicle segments. I would go for road grip ability that the brand names.

same as sir kimps, tested ko na rin ang Yoko Geolandar A/T +2 and I'm very much satisfied with these tires. Unang-una na napansin ko nang magpalit ko ng tires(from Dueler H/T), laking improvement sa ride comfort. Hindi siya matalbog o matagtag. Noise? Mas tahimik pa siya doon sa dating H/T tires ko. Durability? I've already run 10k using these tires and no noticeable thread wear. Parang bago pa nga. IMO, alaga lang sa alignment baka tumagal ito ng more than 50k. Traction? Wet and Dry, superb ang traction niya. I never heard these tires squeak. Offroad? Tried them sa soft sand w/out engaging in 4WD, they bite pretty well ( syempre, with so much sand splashing). Looks? Agressive. Para siyang mild na M/T. On the downside, medyo mahina ang brakes.

Purchased my Geo's(31x10.5x15) at Princess Tire Supply located at 2304 T. Mapua St. cor Laguna St. Tel# 254-1904. Ask for Tom. Price is P4350*.

MT's are mud terrains, medyo iba ang orientation dito sir gary,
muds are morea t home at... muds siyempre, so compromise yung riding comfort, medyo maingay sa daan and longer braking distance, now kung seasonal off roader ka stick to All terrains,
but if you live kung saan maraming putik and lahar go with muds.

MT's are generally expensive than AT's
but sometimes some dealers would like to get rid of their slow moving mud tires for a low price.

Kung 70%-30% onroad-offroad ratio ang gamit ng sasakyan, better get an All Terrain rubber. Now, if the ratio is 50:50 mild mud tread patttern would be more suited. As boss [b]kimpOy[/] mentioned, this will be more expensive than all terrains. Price range is around 6K-8K per tire. Kung deeper lugs and extreme mud tires like Simex and Mickey Thompsons, 10k-20k per tire.

Kimps and Ungas: Thanks for the enlightenment! I see the light! It's now between BFG 245/75R16 AT(Php 5580) or Yokohama Geolander AT2 265/70R16( Php 5650)

    bro need your comments.

Long Trail T/A vs. All Terrain T/A (not sure kung KO)

    Thread Wear - 10 / 6
    Wet Traction - 10 / 7
    Quiet Ride - 10 / 7
    Handling - 8 / 6
    Mud traction - 6 / 9

    sidewalls- 2 ply/3 ply

    Porma - 7/9.5

    Php 4,620/6,440

    0(poor)>>>10(best)

What do you think? Can I play with you guys on Long Trail tyres, say Hi Peak? Concern ko sa AT is thread wear, traction and price.

Got these data from BFG website.

    Of course anyone can comment.
