first, down draft carbs are mounted upright (this is the common type, found in carb cars like 1.3 corollas), they suck air downwards

side draft carbs are mounted on the side of the engine, suck air from the side

twin carb (or dual carb) is a carb assembly with 2 "torotot" each

example of twin side draft carb:

so a 4 cylinder engine with twin side carbs has 4 torotots

my project is putting a downdraft to a 4K engine to have better sound and little addition in performance, someone told me that twin-side will add more performance in 4k engine (1.3L) and it will become 1600cc, but it will sacrifice more gas consumption is that true? the down draft is good for daily use is that true also? my project is having 4k engine 5 speed, down draft, 4-2-1 with muffler at the end and put it in a owner type jeep, what you think sir?

a stock 4K already comes with a down draft carb

what do you mean you wanna put a down draft carb on a 4K?

    it's already there

unless you mean you wanna replace the stock carb with another downdraft carb

twin side drafts will give you more power and increase your fuel consumption

(kaya nasabi sa iyo magiging 1600cc)

they suck in more air and spray more fuel

but dual side drafts are harder to tune than stock carbs

ah ganun ba, how about changing the stock down draft to mikuni or solex?
4K engine have a stock down draft and it is only 2 right? how about adding 2 more to make 4 down draft? do you think it still fuel efficient?.

wow that's to hot! so to summarize all of the information that i gained to i will just replace the stock carb in to a better one right? i just relay to 4-2-1 headers and mufflers to have better sound and performance without sacrificing gas consumption.

this is my project owner type jeep sir

do you have any suggestion to have more greater performance and great sound without compromising the gas consumption?

typically, more performance = more gas consumed

mga sir. ganito kasi gusto ko maging tunog ng 4K engine ko, pero ang prolema baka maging malakas naman masyado sa gaso.

if you're so concerned about fuel consumption, leave everything stock

replacing your stock carb with a bigger down draft or dual down drafts or twin side drafts will significantly increase your fuel consumption

that video you posted above, the corolla's engine is 2T

    dual carb yan

baka 2T-G yan (DOHC, dual carb -- malakas sa gas)

if you're only after the sound, install a large free-flow muffler sa iyong jeep, maybe you'll get close to that sound

    but your 4K can't sound exactly like a 2T

+1 on uls for the free-flow muffs

if you want performance mods, get an engine swap for a bigger and better engine.

expect poor FC if you're going for engine performance mods.

imho, keep your stock muffs, if you have one. you arent going any faster on those noisy and ear-itating exhaust

ahh... siguro i will put a bigger down draft to increase a little bit performance and put a free flow muffler, anyway do you know where i could go a shop that doing both headers and free flow muff? i heard some of owner type jeep had a nodaloz headers, another question is 4G33 a gas hogger?
