hey guys..help me naman! i've been noticing a white smoke coming out of the tailpipe for the past 2 weeks now. we had it serviced for its 100T kms PMS then pagkabalik ng car sa amin..i noticed the white smoke na kaagad, which was never there before we had it serviced. so we decided to bring the car back again, this time the car was idling very bad, parang kulang sa gas or something and the white smoke, when i got the car last thursday, meron pa rin yung white smoke. so i told them kung naayos ba nila, sabi nila oo! hmm...fishy. anyway, we observed it for another week and still meron pa ring white smoke. we had it tuned-up again at servitek, to lessen the gas intake during idling to lessen the smoke hopefully but still meron pa rin.
what seems to be the problem? sorry kung mahaba ha? will be waiting for you inputs...
sabi nga pala ng friend ko na baka may nagspi-spill na oil kaya may white smoke? dont know about that really..

August 29th, 2004 09:20 PM #2it could be many things. oil in the combustion chamber or fouled plugs.
worse yet, blown piston rings and/or valve seals. since the engine is kinda high milage there might be a possibility na ito yung reason.

you said "car" so i'll assume it is a gasoline engine we're talking about here.
well it has been raining the past 2 weeks. yun bang white smoke, does it disappear after it exits the tail pipe, or does it linger. if it disappears then it's probably just water vapor from the high humidity air. assuming of course that the water level in the radiator does not go down, which could be a leaking cylinder head gasket.
if it smells like oil, then iba na yan. could be leaking valve seals, worn oil control rings (or simply piston rings), etc. but then if it's oil the smoke will not be white, it will be gray.

sorry for the late update guys...sabi ng casa, baka valve seals daw sa may pistons...kailangan i-overhaul pero ang mahal! 100K!! do you think its a better idea to get a second hand car na lang? or when they do fix it, magiging "brand new" na ba or baka sirain pa din? baka kasi sayang lang pa-overhaul kung ganun din...

imho, overhaul on an engine that has only 100,000 km on it is premature, unless you have been driving your car hard.

medyo high mileage nga yung engine at it may be due for an overhaul indeed. hanap ka na lang ng mahusay and affordable na talyer who can do the operation for much less.... Yung Gen2 pajero overhaul ko went for 15k ALL IN.

may nag-quote sa akin around 7K yung labor ng overhaul ng kotse ko which is only a corolla xe.

Yes, i do think so. Since it's based on the 4th-gen delica/space gear, which in turn shares some of...
