Some vehicles have sealed propeller shafts, yolk, ball joints and tie rod ends, there is no need for lubricating except changing them into brand new ones. While on some other vehicles there is a nipple which grease can be inserted and pumped in.

With regards to shock absorber bushings, these are plain rubber grommets or sometimes poly bushings which does not need lubrication. They are prone to cracks and inturn powdery form which could produce the thugging sound. Replacement is the only cure for this part.
