sori guys, me again...

may ngatngat ng daga yung mga rubber stuff sa engine bay ko! first it was the tube for the windshield washer.... not really an essential part of the engine, pero nakakainis e.

THEN, i saw bite marks on one of the high tension wires!! i have to buy a whole set, kse hindi pwede tingi-tingi. it didnt reach the wires...pero bad trip.

now, how do i avoid this happening again. e parati namang malinis yung engine....minsan may engine wash pa sya. any suggestions?

Dumb question, but I think it may be relevant: Where exactly do you park your car? In a garage? On the street?

If you do have a garage, you might want to make sure that your garage is fairly rodent/bug proof. Keep your garage doors shut as much as possible and make sure that you keep the surrounding area clean as possible, to deter rats and other vermin from coming back.

Out on the street, it may be a litte more difficult. Again, try to keep the area around your vehicle as clean as possible; i.e. no food to attract vermin.

You might also want to place rat traps/poison right around the spot where you usually park your car.

Deterrence is still the best way to avoid problems like yours (simply by keeping things clean), but if all else fails, the traps/poison should proactively solve any issues.

bad trip. i just discovered that my 2 front brakelines were also chewed off by rats. buti na lang wala pang tagas. gastos na naman to! lagyan ko kya ng racuumin paste yung bagong brakelines na ipapalit ko.

Hi guys. Ako naman last week lang pinasok ko yung oto ko sa casa kasi lumalabas "transmission malfunction" sa lcd. Sabi nung service rep nginatngat daw ng daga yung turbocharger hose ko kaya malabo yung takbo nung kotse nataranta daw siguro yung transmission sabi ni sir Niky.

the insulation of most newer cars or newer wires are commonly made of soy plastic. they like the smell and gnaw on them. the older plastics which were made from petroleum by products were rarely, if at all, chewed by rodents.
in most parts of europe, it is not only rats that chew on the wires, the ferrets and squirrels as well. the europeans usually hang a small bag of cat hair or something from the cats and place them in fabric or stockings and hung inside the engine compartment to deter the rodents. there are some sprays to discourage the rats from infesting your car, the only thing is if your pets ride in the same car, these pets feel uncomfortable.

I'm lucky never ko pa naranasan yan with my car... our street has so much rats roaming around at night, last night lang I saw a 10" rat dead in front of our gate...

Rat bait na nalang, lagay mo sa tabi ng each tire (dun sila umaakyat)... They're pretty smart, so place the rait poison inside some food... Di nila papansinin kung bait lang...

Be careful kung may pets ka, baka madali sila...

Hindi ka nagiisa bro! Sa akin naman may kagat ng daga yung fuel line ko buti na lang hindi malaki. Minsan may makikita akong buto sa engine compartment ko dala ng daga.

sometimes yung daga likes the smell/taste of the insulator of some wires. thats why they like biting & trying to eat it. Its probably some chemical they are attracted to that was used to manufacture the wires.

last week, pagbukas ko ng engine bay ko mayrong daga na nakapatong sa washer container, at bigla na lang tumakbo kung saan-saan sa loob ng engine bay, di ko na nakita. nginatngat ang sound proof sa engine bay. ang ginawa ko, nilinis ko ang engine bay at lahat ng p'wede kung punasan ay pinunasan ko ng gas at least medyo masangsang ang amoy para di na bumalik ang daga. bago pa nga ride ko e, 3 months pa lang.
so far wala ng damage kasi every morning tinitignan ko na. sana di na bumalik.

I HATE RATS... mga walanghiya sila!

Once a teen-daga went on a ride with me... pagpukas ko ng pinto, nagulat ako, akala ko eh ahas, eh buntot pala ni daga! I had to remove both my front signal lights just to kick it out of my ride! :x

One time naman, when I opened up my hood, I saw THREE of them lying on TOP OF MY ENGINE. Tiningnan pa ako, at dahan dahan umalis... loko sila ah! On one side of my engine bay, puro rat ****, on another side naman, ginawang Jolibee, as in may chicken joy, may tissue ng jolibee, at box ng chicken joy at may straw pa! Grrr.... :x

So ayan, THIS MEANS WAR na :x... so I bought several boxes of RACUMIN PASTE (Yellow box) and Racumin Pellets (Blue), and started feeding them. 2 weeks lumampas bago nagkaeffect ang Racumin... took around 1 month bago wala ng tumitira ng Racumin...

End result of WAR vs. DAGA-RAT (part 1):
Me + Racumin = 40++ Daga (yung iba namatay sa ilalim ng junk, mabaho and irretrivable)
Guard + dos por dos = 5++ Daga
J.Y.D. (Junk Yard Dog) and Family = 5++ Daga

I therefore conclude that Racumin + Determination = Zero Daga :twisted:

So far sa car ko wala namang incident with rats.

I love to kill them slowly, MALAKI o maliit, i want to capture them alive. then put it on a big can filled with half full then see them swim, its hard for them to swim. If you left them they'll die eventually, but me i like to use a long stick to push them into the water and them breathing so hard. then let them swim again. then mayamaya they'll die.

anyway, palerider47, lolo ko naman may mga rat traps, yung bakal na sinasabitan mo sa loob ng bait then paghila nila dun sasara agad ang door and kung mahaba ang tail nila mapuputol... then gagawin niya papatayin niya sa gutom...

dad ko naman nung nakahuli using a similar rat trap, nagpakulo siya ng tubig (medyo marami) then pinaliguan niya ang daga with the boiling water! hahahaha! lakas ng iyak ng daga nakakabingi pero ang sarap sa tenga! pati pala mga airsoft (or something like that, yung tingga yung bala) guns niya ginagamit niya... hehehehe!

anyway, racumin effective!
