Ok ba ito for 2003 Altis? Mileage is 40k. Thanks![]()
huh? i believe that 15w and 20w are regular thickness for engine oils, thinner oils are are used for increased performance.Too thick for engine oil, but good for Manual Transmission.
The max viscosity that you want to put in your engine is 30W. Most 4X4 tranny and differential oil uses 70 - 90W oil, and front wheel drive manual tranny uses 50 - 60W oil. The best multi grade that you can buy in the is 5 - 30W, and mobil 1 got one that you don't have to change oil up to 15,000 miles. But, that would be really gambling with a very expensive investment. I'm using Mobil 1, 5 - 30W, 7500 miles oil.
15W-50 is well suited for your vehicle. I would also suggest considering Mobil 1 5W-50. Other than that check your car manual for the recommended oil. For my vehicle 20W-50 is the recommended viscosity, so thats what I used on my last oil change.
I use Mobil 20w-50 engin oil, and have it changed every 5000kms. 20w-50 0r 15w-50 as indicated in the manual.
The Mobil1 SuperSyn 15W-50 and/or Mobil 1 5W-50 that chis_d suggested, should work well with your car.
look in to your car manual and try to use engine oil that is prefered.
Meron nagbebenta sa mga various forums ng Mobil1 Gold 0W-40, P1600 lang for 1-gallon, P400 per liter. Orig naman, manufactured in Singapore.Originally Posted by Juan Tamad

I think 15W-50 is the perfect rating for Philippine driving conditions. Not too thin, and can withstand high temps. Yung mga 0W kasi is better suited for winter conditions, for cold starts. Pero dito 0W is too thin, and might leak sa older cars na di na masyadong maganda ang gaskets.
Im now searching some Oil because I have to change oil as soon as possible.
Im found out these :
10w-50 Synthetic
5w-40 synthetic
eto ba yung along South Super Highway?Originally Posted by paolorenzo
additional info lang mga brod about viscocity:
0W is for -30C degree
5W = -25C
10W = -20C
15W = -15C
20W = -10C
25W = -5C
0W is much too thin for old engines. 5W is about as low as you should go.
My engine runs sluggish on 15W and above, but if 20W is recommended in your manual, you shouldn't go below 10 or 15.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Usual recommended grade for our weather is an oil that has the 40W grade (i.e. 15W-40, 20W-40, 5W-40 synth, etc.).
Benta na doon sa Cash n carry ay 420 pesos.. Kailan mo nabili yun 15w-50 at 410 pesos?Originally Posted by ian_rex
