I think 15W-50 is the perfect rating for Philippine driving conditions. Not too thin, and can withstand high temps. Yung mga 0W kasi is better suited for winter conditions, for cold starts. Pero dito 0W is too thin, and might leak sa older cars na di na masyadong maganda ang gaskets.

0W is for -30C degree
5W = -25C
10W = -20C
15W = -15C
20W = -10C
25W = -5C

0W is much too thin for old engines. 5W is about as low as you should go.
My engine runs sluggish on 15W and above, but if 20W is recommended in your manual, you shouldn't go below 10 or 15.

Usual recommended grade for our weather is an oil that has the 40W grade (i.e. 15W-40, 20W-40, 5W-40 synth, etc.).
