AFAIK the temp gauge remains constant once the vehicle reaches optimal driving temperature bro.

Except when driving at high speed, at which point the temp should slightly drop from normal, indicating added cooling done by the wind going past the radiator fins.

there is no slightly drop, even though i drive in the morning which have a cold air. i already go to shop and check them, but theres no problem with my water pump, no leaks. i'm just wondering what is the problem of my car, because my other car which is toyota corolla, slightly drop the temp up to 1/4 reading whenever i drive this car. may nakapagsabi sa kin na normal daw po ito sa mga honda cars.. for all honda cars owner, same po ba tayo ng reading sa temp gauge na naka fix na sya, lampas ng isang guhit sa gitna??

When the temp drops significantly as in 1/4 of the temp gauge, then something is wrong with that car. It should maintain more or less an average temperature reading. My conclusion is your Civic is running better than the Corolla. The Corolla's temp should not drop that much. When I say slightly, I mean a few millimeters higher or lower - maybe one or two higher or lower than normal - nothing more. Having too cool of an engine is just as bad as one that's running way too hot.
My guess is your Corolla doesn't have a thermostat installed.Last edited by mbeige; December 10th, 2007 at 01:07 PM.

normal characteristic lang iyan ng mga ek bro. kabahan ka na kapag tumaas o bumaba iyan uncharacteristically kasi ibig sabihin niyan may problema na sa cooling system mo

December 11th, 2007 08:10 AM #9that's the correct position for the temp gauge to be at. just slightly above the squigly line.

Last time i drive my car from manila to baguio that was 2 months ago and hindi ko pa napapa overhaul ang radiator ko, tumaas ang temp reading ko hanggang 3/4.. im running for about 100kph-130kph sa nlex. so, ginawa ko nag slow down ako hangang sa makarating ako sa gas station, then i check nakita ko umaapaw yung tubig sa reservoir ng radiator. tapos on that day dinala ko sya sa shop at sabi kelangan pa overhaul daw yung radiator ko dahil baka madumi na, so i did.. right now minomonitor ko pa din sya, pero di pa ulit ako tumatakbo sa malalayo. tama ba na baka madumi lang radiator ko?
