Hi Guys, really need your help. Nagkakaleak during malakas na ulan ung roof ko and i don't know saan nangagaling. Dati wala naman to bigla lang nagkaron. It's so annoying.

I've checked sa windshield, sa antenna pero hindi dun ang source.

Can anybody recommend where I can have this checked and fixed? Thanks in advance

    Taking a stab at it.

Your sunroof drains may be clogged.

My focus doesn't have a sunroof. It's the TDCi model. Wala naman ibang butas or anything mounted on the roof for water to pass.

    Hot damn!

    Now that IS a problem.

If there's nothing mounted (or drilled) on the roof, your likely culprit may be the windshield weather stripping. Water may slowly dribble in from there and creep to the lowest possible area. Remember that all it takes is a small hole (or crack) for water to come thru.

Try hosing (gentle flow) down your windshield area and see what happens.

If you have visited shops that jack the car up from one corner instead of front or rear center , chances are that the butyl tape used to install and seal the windshield against the body has delaminated or peeled off causing a gap and leak

I do think that it's the windshield that is causing it. Months before, i did not have this problem, but the car is most of the time parked in an open parking. Before, it only happened once and kahit anong lakas ng ulan, walag leak, now, nagkakaleak everytime malakas ang ulan or matagal ang ulan.

I'll probably have to bring it to Aguila glass to have it resealed siguro.

Hindi sa antenna eh pero culprit ko talaga is antenna. Habang umuulan one time, tinanggal ko yung map light and wala naman tulo from the antenna base.

if your car is one of those with thick butyl adhesive between the windshield glass and the metal frame...

if you can remove the borloloy weatherstrip, you might be able to visualize the area where the thick butyl adhesive has separated from the glass/metal.

Hmm. I don't wanna DIY on this cause I might Fvck it up. haha. I'll bring it to a specialist instead. I'm glad that this "normally" happens. I just hate it everytime it leaks! well everybody hate leaks.

    Thanks guys!

^No rust on that part. It's really weird, it leaks on one place only.

mentioned earlier, when the car (specially unitized body) is raised at one corner with a garage jack higher than the scissors jack that came with the car, the body flexes too much and the windshield either cracks or the adhesive butyl tape peels of or creates a gap either between the butyl and the windshield or between the butyl and the body of the car. perform an inexpensive test using a stethoscope and compressed air. have an assistant blow compressed air in front of the windshield while you on the backside (inside the car) listen with a stethoscope. this way, you and pinpoint the leak to within the closest 1/2 inch from the suspected leak
