Tanong ko lang, kasi yun fog light socket ko naputol yun wire sa loob, so i had it soldiered twice na and parati natutunaw yun sinoldier na part. Meron bang ibang material na dapat gamitin to fuse the metal and the wire? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Baka solder ang ibig mong sabihin... Kung natutunaw, splice mo na lang. try to tie the broken part with solid wire after mo splice para mas matibay

Kapag naka-on yung fogs mo for, say, an even ten minutues eh it can generate enough heat to start melting the solder lead. The best thing to do IMO is either splice the wires (gaya ng sabi ni Maykel) or buy male and female connectors to join the wires.

same suggestion as nicolodeon, mas maganda nga bili ka nalang ng connectors para matibay talaga yung connection ng wires.

it shouldn't heat up that much...you might burn your car...if it is hot enough to melt lead/tin solder what more ang rubber???

Suggest ko i-check mo ang wire thickness (resistance), present ba ang fuse (tama ba ang Amperage), and did you use relay...baka merun mali.

E36 foglamp ito, right? Where did the connection break?

If the break is on the socket pin

1a. I think your problem is "cold" soldering and not melting. If the heat is enough to melt the solder on your wire, the plastic socket would've melted before that. Ordinary soldering pens (about 30watts) are not enough to make a good solder since the socket pins are a bit thick. A 60watt pen or gun should do the trick. Cold solders result from insufficient heat when soldering and usually breaks off.

1b. Kung hindi pa rin pwede, just replace the wire socket with a new one. Pwede naman tanggalin yung luma. Just seal it up good for weatherproofing.

If the break is on the bulb socket

    2. Mas problema ito, but still fixable. If the break is the pin where you connect the negative wire - it is the bulb mount itself and cannot be soldered. I suggest that you just convert the bulb and socket to H7 so you can connect the negative wire to the bulb itself.

go to any radiator shop at dun mo ipasolder... or a jewelry shop.... same principle lang ginagamit nila.... have already done this and still snag fit and fine for so many years....

tingin ko din cold solder yan kaya natutunaw... hindi maganda ang pagkakahinang pati yung kinakapitan ng lead. before trying to solder, twist mo muna yung dalawang wires with each other tapos dun mo ihinang. habang hinihinang, lagyan mo ng lead pero after mo dun sa lead, iwan mo ng mas matagal yung panghinang sa wire. about 1-2 sec. para "maluto" ang hinang.

StraightSix. thanks for the pic. Solder nga, mali ako hehe. My problem is 1A.

yes, but the current flowing on the wires can (depending on the kind/type of solder done).

Hindi naman ako marunong mag solder e, pinagawa ko lang, and after the second time kala ko ok na, natunaw pa din talaga, maybe the electric current is generating too much heat for some reason.

I remember nung NROTC namin. Our platoon leader commanded, "Right Soldier, Arm!". Sir, sagot nung isa, baka shoulder.

Take it to someone who knows better how to solder

Poor contacts because of dirt, loose connection, corrosion or cold solder will definitely cause more heat than what's normal. That's because there's less conductor for the current to flow through. So I suggest you have the plug and socket cleaned, too.

"You! Give them the command to salute! On the double!"
(Correct command should be: "Pugay kamay...na!")

Nag-alanganin sya, mukhang di nya kasi alam. Di rin naman nag-salita yung ibang bading out of fear...

So nagalit yung sarhento. "I said give them the command to salute! Demmit!"

So, sabi ng matangkad: "Saludo na!"...

And here's the kicker, almost half of the gay platoon actually saluted!
