August 30th, 2007 02:27 PM #1Good pm fellow tsikoteers! hingi lang sana ko ng opinion regarding sa "kuliglig"sound sa engine ko paghi rev.Sabi dun sa pinatingnan ko tensioner bearing daw sa loob so kailangan daw baklasin sabay palit na ng timing belt.Pero pagnagspray ko ng wd40 sa pulley nawawala naman sya babalik lang ulit after 1 day pero medyo mahina pero rinig pa rin.maybe bearing sya pero gusto ko lang din makasure kung anong bearing.Nalilito kasi ko kung ano ba ung tensioner,idling or pulley bearing.Btw,di sya compressor bearing kasi kahit off ac naririnig ko pa rin sya.Thanks in advance sa magrereply.Corolla 2E lang po auto ko,thanks.

August 30th, 2007 05:46 PM #2Ewan ko lang a. I think you might be putting your timing belt in danger by spraying it (indirectly) with WD40. Posibleng mag-deteriorate sya.
May power steering ba yang 2E mo? Kung wala, baka yung bearing ng idler pulley ang sira. Here's something you can try: Remove the fan/alternator and compressor belts, then run the engine. Kung mawala yung tunog, then it's one of those pulleys that are not turning (water pump, alternator, compressor, idler/power steering). Restore one belt and identify which one using process of elimination.
Reminder lang, wag patakbuhin nang matagal na walang water pump & alternator for obvious reasons. ;)

Well sa tingin ko belt langito ng alternator or aircon kasi accesable siya pag timing belt ito hindi mo basta basta ma spray kasi meron kang kailangang tangalin na cover. Just check yung tension ng belt baka over/under tighten ito, to check try to push yung belt dapat atleast mga 1/2 inch ang deplection nito, pag kulang adjust na lang paluwag, at pag sobra adjust na lang pasikip.

August 31st, 2007 08:14 AM #4baka idler bearing lang yan... i doubt it is the tensioner kung nalagyan nya ng wd from the outside.

Sana nga sa bearing lang ng pulley or belt.My point din kaya ung mekaniko na nagsabi na bearing daw un sa loob ng timing belt kaya i need to replace na that two bearings pa at un together with the t-belt para isang baklasan na lang.E medyo bata pa ung t-belt ko original pa kaya medyo nanghihinayang pa ko.2.5k++ estimate nya.Konti lang namn ko magspray ng wd40 dun sa mga pulley pero nawawala tlaga.note lang DI dun sa alt or compressor belt or ung daanan ng belt ako nagispray,dun mismo sa gitna ng pulley ko nilalagyan.Some more idea there pls?thanks.Sorry medyo haba na hehe...

August 31st, 2007 08:48 AM #6Thanks sir speedyfix,un bang idler bearing is ung sa labas lang dba? ung nakakabit sa medyo malaking pulley,tama po ba? kasi ung sa alt,compressor and ps pump medyo maliit lang ung mga pulley nila.Naisolate ko na ung problem di sya sa alt or compressor bearing kasi kahit off ac ko meron pa rin and dun ko tlga sya naririnig sa may gitna,sa tapat ng timingbelt.So un ung inisprayan ko wd di namn siguro naabot ung wd sa timing belt kasi may cover ung timing belt.Thanks again.

In that case, wala kang idler pulley because the PS pump takes its place.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
