extreme heat from the windshield causes the rubber wipers to crack and harden, thereby significantly shortening yung service life ng wipers.

A good pair of wipers ups will last you long

I had mine for more than 2 years now and the spring is still robust

    :D

I've owned and maintained several vehicles for 30 years. Replaced a set of wipers only once in my Revo over 12years, never doing that wiper lift thing.

That's a load of crap. You're even endangering the integrity of not only the spring, but the wiper arm pivot just beneath the hood. And that's a very expensive part

I'm with newcomer. It's unnecessary to pull it up. You'll have to change it anyway eventually...

Iba reason ko for doing the wiper pull up. I park in an area where lots of construction is going on around the place.

it acts as an antenna transmitting the car owner's silliness. better clip on wiper stands.

You may not see the consequence immediately but definitely it builds up until it becomes very noticeable.

As for the spring getting stretched, kalokohan yan. I am sure the spring will not even come close to its elastic limit when the wiper arm is raised. More than 100 years na gumagawa ng kotse alam na nila yan.

I agree with yebo on the springs, di naman mabilis masira ang springs ng wiper arm, I only replace the blades on my 15 year old ride, never the springs because they're A-Okay.

Like any rubber component, wiper blades are wear and tear consumable items that will eventually age whether you use it or not. It won't matter if it's lifted or left kissing the windshield, it wil still age. If it's under the sun a lot, it will age faster. It does have UV inhibitors but they too, expire eventually.

If you see water streaks when you use the wipers, chances are, they just need to be changed.

Wiper blades are cheap to replace... and you only have to replace them every 2-3 years for best performance.

tinataas lang yan pag winter kasi nagpifreeze yan with the windshield. dyan siguro nakuha yong idea nong mga nagtataas ng arm. kaya lang wala naman tayong winter kaya useless ang ginagawa nila. napakamura ng wiper blade compare sa masisave mo kung totoo ngang naprolong ang life sa pagtaas ng arm plus the hassle of doing it everytime. add the fact na hindi designed ang arm na nakataas for long time. baka in the end mas napamahal ka pa kesa makatipid.

IMO those wiper stands are silly creations. just creates an annoying slap on your windshield everytime you use your wipers, or when the wipers decide to deploy on their own. hee hee

even promotes rusting on the wiper arm where you install them.

BTT: i pull away the wipers from the windshield when the vehicle is parked for a while here at home. only because it becomes a dust collector.
