Anybody planning to fill up PETRON EXTRA UNLEADED? Post naman observation niyo.

  5. #45
i dont know how they test it,pero i believe that the comercial/ write-up, honda will benifit more than petron...come on, could you do the same 26km/l on a accord v6,a ford expe?

i think is the jazz lang ang lalong sisikat sa comercial na un...just imagine the salesmans of honda will say to you when you iqure about the jazz!

i don doubt the jazz...eversince it lauched, they claim only on the 20's km/l...pero un ngaq with the ramirez' on the wheel...i can believe it by +10%(malay ko bang pag sa write-ups lang sila nagdrive....not unless they can show a full-length non-edited video of the whole run!)

petron unleaded talaga gamit ko sa car. mukhang phase out nila ito in exchange for xtra unleaded.

Puro highway driving yan. Expect less than half that figure within Metro Manila.

I'm using Seaoil Unleaded right now...28.20/liter. Sana walang tubig saka di sobrang dumi. Hahahaha!

for me, a 10% improvement on my mileage would be most welcome. assuming that xtra unleaded cost the same as the petron unleaded.

last time i filled up my tank ptron unleaded is 29.10 per liter at ortigas ave corner santolan street

So it's dear old Poch pala. Saw the commercial kanina. Yup, the same guy who made a 49-km efficiency on a 2001 Civic VTi M/T using Petron Blaze. At least this time, the figures are more realistic, though still far from attainable in the real world.

baka naman puro highway yung dinaanan nila..and jazz pa ang gamit nila..eh 1.3L engine lang yun..1114 kms? hmm..attainable in their way of testing talaga. eh paano kung higher displacement engine ang pinangtest nila? aabot kaya yun?

for me this is just marketing hype. although i know that Petron Unleaded has the highest octane (93+) among the major stations which rates 93 flat only in their unleadeds. this could be a factor.

however, their ad claim 1,114km travel on a Honda Jazz full tank (thats more than 20km/L)... well... I see many factors which will produce favorable results for their purpose. First is they use a car designed for fuel economy, which is a Honda Jazz. Its fuel economy due to weight and technology is obvious. Who knows brand new Honda Jazz pa ginamit sa testing? Naka aircon ba nung ginamit? What's the overall load? Was some kind of tuning done? At provincial driving kaya yun, with limited traffics. So its possible, but I don't think a gauge basis.

as i said, this is just marketing hype like Shell better mileage. the best fuel saving would be efficient overall fuel delivery and engine by quality tune up and maintenance, using thin oil, spark plugs, fuel filters, clean air filters, and smart driving.
