Guys, my brothers company car will be expiring on October 2005. What are the things needed to be replaced (shouldered by the company), para kapag binili niya sa company yung car on October, wala siya problema for the next few months. So far, He's planning to have the following replaced:

    1. Battery
    2. Tires
    3. Clutch disk, Pressure Plate, Release Bearing
    4. Brake Pads

btw, ride is a 2000 City with 60,000 km mileage.

    Thanks.

Check the fluids = coolant, brake fluid, power steering, ATF (if its an A/T).

Check the fuel filter, suspension, bearings, belts, plugs, etc. In short general check up. BTW you may want to check the cars manual for a more detailed list on what to check/replace.

well, everything naman that needs replacement during PMS will be replaced as his car undergoes regular PMS every 5,000km.

Pero is there anything else that he needs to replace na hindi naman naka indicate sa manual? like the clutch, sa manual puro check/adjust lang ang naka lagay, pero para di na kailangan palitan after he buys it, he's going to have it replaced na din. Same with the tires, though makapal pa, but since its nearing 2 years na, he's going to have it replaced na din. THey are also entitled to have their cars repainted (washover) before the expiration date of their cars.

He's doing this so that he'll have a worry free car when he gets it.

what about the timing belt and tensioner bearing?

Here's what I will do if im in that situation
    1. Timing Belt, Tensioner and Idler bearing, Camshaft and Crankshaft Oil seal and water pump.
    2. Clutch Disc, P.Plate, R. bearing and Transmission Oil seal.
    3. Brake Pads and shoe kung pwede pati brake master, tires, battery.
    4. Clean everything from engine to body top interior. Under coat, Reupholster?(Kung pwede lang)Leather para maganda.
    5. Repaint?(dapat Magaling gagawa kasi baka kumapal lang) Full Detail ok pa.

    Opinion ko lang yan.

    1) Shocks,
    2) Bushing
    3) Tie Rods
    4) Washover since libre naman (sa Casa na rin siguro)
    5) replaced all the belts (aircon, alternator, fan)
    6) Aircon General PMS
    7) Tires

thanks for all your replies. from those you have listed siguro ito yung mga pwedeng pa replace:

    1. Battery
    2. Tires
    3. Clutch disk, Pressure Plate, Release Bearing
    4. Brake Pads - replaced na
    5. Shocks
    6. Bushings
    7. Tie-rod and other suspension parts
    8. CV Joints
    9. water pump, timing belt and tensioner bearings
    10. all belts - replaced na

He just had his A/C compressor and fan blower motor replaced nung January, sabay na din yung cleaning.

I think that would be enough to make his car run without problems for a year or more.

    thanks guys!

bait naman ng company if they shoulder all of that. won't they require a detailed list of problems from whoever maintains the car now of what is really wrong with it before they give the go signal?
