March 19th, 2006 09:58 PM #1actually not only advice is needed for me.,.,., im new here and as a mater of fact i joined because recently my father bought a 1973 ford mustang grande as our project car.,.
its still in good condition (the whole thing) , it needs a little bit of repair but the problem is, it doesnt have an engine,,
the owners before us sold the engine for another wich is lesser for the pocket..
the original engine for my mustang is a "302 or 351 V8 engine"..
im from ilocos and theres no available engine here..
so i would like to ask u guys if you happen to know, where i could actually find 1 and eventually buy it...,,
and please.,.,.,""" with transmission""""
its very hard to find 1... im looking forward to your help... tnx.,.,

By this time the Mustang has gotten bigger and heavier.
Is it a true 1973 model?
The Ford Mustang's V8s had also gotten weaker because of stricter emission control...
302 V8 136 bhp
351 V8 154 bhp
351 V8 156 bhp
For performance, you might have to upgrade to the stronger older spec 1972 V8s:
351 V8 266 bhp
351 V8 275 bhpLast edited by AG4; March 25th, 2006 at 03:07 AM.

You can buy EFI kits for the original engine. This also helps with emissions.
If you don't have the original engine anymore, numbers matching doesn't matter, as even if it's a period correct engine, it's not worth as much (collectability wise) if the VIN and engine number don't match the original receipts.
Thus, don't count out putting a different engine in.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
