Nakow! Wag mo nang antayin ang 'signs' na yan!!!
Basta follow a regular change schedule. eto lang magagawa mo from your end to maintain your AT.
Usually, good ATF smells sweet. Pag amoy sunog na, then its too late..... kelangan palitan agad.
Im not sure lang about the maintenance sched, pero the more you change it, the better. Why? kasi tuwing atf change, around 20-30% of the old atf still remains in the tranny.

July 27th, 2004 05:56 PM #8Paj ATF and filter change every:
-12 months or 25,000 km
IF you use your ride under the ff:
-heavy traffic where outside temp regularly reaches 32 degrees C or higher
-in hilly or mountainous terrain
-frequent trailer pulling
-frequent off road
THEN change every22,500km
NOTE:
-ATF should be hot when changed
-Most models with drain plugs do not have filter-determine 1st your model to check if you need filter renewal
-
Use Dexron II or Mercon ATF
Capacity (approx.)
'86-earlier models 3.7 ltrs.
'87-later models 5.1 ltrs.

thanks for the clarification. in this case i'll change the ATF earlier, around 20,000km.
although for my expedition last time i checked with the dealer they said 40,000km for the ATF change. hmmm...
