    Hey bro! I'm new here and I hope matulungan ninyo ako sa problema ko sa kotse, It's 97 lancer EL 1300 cc. noong hindi pa na semi overhaul yon ang ganda ng hatak kahit 1300 lang yon. kahit sa matarik na ramp kayang kaya. Pero simula nung na semi-overhaul dahil accidentally natuyuan ng langis, Pinalitan ng connecting rod bearing, main bearing, oil bearing, water pump at timing belt. I think ok naman ang pagkagawa pero napansin ko huminang humatak pag nag start up ako ng makina. kailangan painitin ko muna ng mga 5 to 10 minutes sa umaga para malakas ang hatak. kasi sa basement level ang parking ko kaya kailangan malakas makina para makaahon sa ramp. pero pag nag init na makina ok na takbo nya.
    Sa province kc ako nasiraan noon kaya sa province din ako nag pa semi-overhaul malayo dito sa manila. kaya hindi practical na balik balikan ko yung gumawa para magtanong kung ano pweding gawin sa kotse ko. sana may makatulong sakin dito sa tsikot forum kung ano dapat kong ipa check / ipagawa sa kotse ko. thanks.

    dude that's normal, siguro ganon lang yung tingin mo kase alam mong kaka-touch lang nila ng makina... IMHO hindi talaga 100% na magiging the same yung feeling ng kotse mo kapag pinalitan nila yung some of the internals kahit pa OEM parts yung nilagay nila... And also, kelangan mo naman talaga i-heat up ang kotse before ka tumakbo, otherwise you're shortening the car's life little by little...

    Thanks dudes, siguro nga, pero dati kasi noong di pa na semi overhaul yon. instantly kahit hindi ko painit makina, okey ang hatak. i dont know if there's a problem or not.

    you mean natuyuan ng oil and yet semi overhaul (as per your term) lang which i think should be a major overhaul. at any rate it could be a cam timing issue

    baka masikip pa adjustments ng valves niyan para lumapat ang ginawa ng mechanic. try to re-adjust yun valves mo sa specs. pa compression test mo din baka yun piston rings mo may tama na rin kasi pag mainit nag expand na yun rings kaya ok na siya humatak. kung matarik talaga you have to warm up the engine or rev it up a bit. sa baguio nga from a starting start sa house ng friend ko hirap umakyat yun Gen1 ko dati. Dapat painit muna.

    It was not properly overhauled.IMO.

    hmmmmnn... interesting fact or myth(?)... i dont think mythbuster will agree with this... and if i do belive this, motortv should advise me not to watch them again... OT...

    once its overhauled, it MAY never performed the same way again... means.. badly done...

    In this case he has to warm it up for about 1-2 minutes before revving it to climb out of that underground garage. I didn't say to warm it up while idling for more than 5 minutes or so <-- do not do that. During the mornings, if you take it to drive right after you turn the car on, the oil won't provide any protection, which happens to be one of it's purposes. The oil has to raise its temp from FULL cold to get to the vital components of the engine. Do not let it see higher than ~3.5k rpm unless the oil pressure goes down from ~30 psi and the oil temp reaches 160-180 deg, which will probably take up to 15 minutes of steady driving...

    Thank again mga bro, para malaman ninyo yung talagang nangyari sa kotse nung papunta ako ng probins last May. nalubak yung kotse then di ko alam na natamaan yung drain plug ng langis habang tumatakbo kotse nakita ko na nagwarning yung oil. So I stop the car and check then nakita ko na daming talsik ng oil. Then I stop the engine at ipinahatak ko na lang. malapit na kc sa probinz namin kaya dun ko na pina overhaul yon.

    Maganda tunog ng engine tahimik at pino ang tunog hindi nanginginig at white ang usok ng tambutso.

    Thanks ulit mga bro. I will try compression test at kung may time ako balikan ko sa probinz yung nag overhaul.

    Just a heads up, when you see the oil light lit up on your dash, turn the car off as soon as you get the chance to pull over, then check for the obvious and wait a little while before turning the car back on... There isn't any sort of warning when that light comes on. Also, it is one of those on your dash that lights up RED, and red means STOP!, if it was indicated as orange like an oil pressure light it would of been not as serious, but red doesn't take an account as to warn...

    na-check mo na ba yung coolant mo? See if it's contaminated at all...

    *blink, paps, senxa..stupid question ulit...ano effect pag contaminated ang coolant? and how do you check whether it's contaminated or not?

    Kapag may build up sa loob ng coolant reservoir mo ibig sabihin contaminated ang coolant. Check mo rin yung radiator cap ~dapat wala ding obvious build up, kung meron, ibig sabihin may contamination nga... "Contamination" means may mixture ng oil and coolant... Isa sa mga signs of contamination eh yung puting usok na lumalabas sa tambutso...Also, kapag contaminated ang coolant mo, ibig sabihin may oil leak ka somewhere, most likely leak ~head gasket, but things may vary as well from case to case...

    oh and there's nothing wrong with asking...

    thanks again..just in case may oil ang rad, may leak kaya ung gasket? o dapat ipalinis muna ung rad then palitan ng bagong coolant/water, then observe muna kung magkaka-oil ulit? may white smoke din kasi during cold start ung oto..but nawawala din after mag-warm ang engine...sabi ng iba, normal lang ung white smoke during cold start, eh...thanks..

Mahinang humatak
