anu ba yun laminated evaporator, iba ba yun serpentine o may serpentine na laminated. diba yun laminated eh protection sa corrosion?

Hindi ko lang po sure wala kasi ako interes dun sa laminated, hehe. Pero ito yata yung may 'blue film' minsan. Parang yung windshield surround ng Patrol kapag bago.

ah so it serves one purpose, that is to protect it from corrosion. minimal siguro ang difference nila sa cooling.

Sir OTEP, na-mention mo yung madalas mangyari sa sasakyan namin (pajero '90 boxtype exceed) - malamig pag umaandar, tapos umiinit pag nakahinto...
Actually ang dalas ko na nga sa aircon repair shop, average siguro every 3 months, lagi iba ang dahilan... minsan leak, minsan palit parts... sakit sa bulsa... lalo pag may pamilya ka
Minsan naiisip ko baka niloloko na lang ako ng repair shop (although kilala naman namin)... Advise naman please. Salamat po!
pahabol, kung walang tint sasakyan, mas madali ba masira aircon? napansin ko kasi pag tag-ulan at malamig panahon, madalang din masira hehe

September 13th, 2006 05:37 PM #16okay, base sa pakikipagusap ko sa denso guy, kapag laminated, mas maliliit ang tubes. kapag serpentine, mas malalaki ang tubes. therefore, kapag mas maliliit ang tubes (as in laminated), mas maraming tubes per any given volume (vis-a-vis the serpentine type). so, parang sa radiator din yan. kung mas maraming tubes at mas maliliit ang tube, you increase the surface area na dinadaluyan ng hangin galing sa blower ng aircon, kaya mas madaling lumamig ang area na pinalalamig ng aircon. like i said, ang affected lang e ang RATE na paglamig. kasi eventually, makakahabol din ang serpentine-type kaya after an x number of minutes, magsing-lamig din ang aircon na naka-serpentine at naka-laminated.
(etong mga susunod na nakasulat e hula ko na talaga) i think laminated and serpentine refers to the method of production (o pag-manufacture) ng evaporator. yung serpentine kasi parang isang mahabang tubo na binalu-balulktot lang nila (na parang ahas - hence, serpentine). yung laminated e madaming malilit na tubes na inihain nila sa isang box (na parang mga bristles ng toothbrush) na ni-laminate lang nila sa dalawang magkabilang dulo ng evaporator.
btw, in my opinion, stay stock. kung ang stock ng kotse mo e serpentine (as in EK civic), stay serpentine. kung ang stock ng kotse mo e laminated (as in camry and most nissans), stay laminated. kasi may grooves ang "bahay" ng evaporator para sa evaporator. kapag binago ang evaporator, baka hindi na swak sa housing nito. baka magka-problema lang in the long run.

September 13th, 2006 05:47 PM #17hindi ako si otep pero makikisawsaw na din ako. subukan mong ipa-check ang condenser fan. suggestion ko, get the original condenser fan motor. (pwedeng motor lang mismo ang palitan, hindi yung buong housing ng condenser fan.) kasi ang replacement na condenser fan minsan iba ang wattage and resistance. ito nangyari sa amin. laging pumuputok ang fuse ng condenser fan. (iyon ngang lokong nagmamarunong na mekaniko sa talyer na malapit sa amin e gustong palitan lang ang fuse ng mas mataas na rating.) dinala ko sa sanden (shaw blvd) at nakita nilang iba ang wattage at resistance ng nakalagay na fan. nang pinalitan ng original, umayos na. singlamig nang time na nabili namin ang kotse.
also, kung mahina na ang condenser fan mo, may tinatawag silang back-pressure sa aircon system (eto hindi ko masyadong gamay at di ko talaga masyadong naiintindihan) kaya daw kapag nakatigil ang kotse e nangangatal ang makina. pero kapag naka-EFI ang kotse mo, minsan kayang mag-compensate ng makina kaya hindi masyadong nangangatal. ang sintomas lang na maaari mong maramdaman e mahinang aircon kapag idle.
so class, ang lesson for today e ang condenser fan hindi porke gumagana ang condenser fan e okay ito. kailangang tingnan din ang wattage, resistance at ang lakas nito.

Agree.
Usually it's the auxillary fan for the condenser (ayaw umikot or masyado mabagal). Pero ang mahal ng assembly niyan (Pajero is Php3,500 up, hindi pa brand new). I just get the motor and use the other existing parts (Php1,500-1,800 ang motor). Ang motor ng aux fan ko ngayon ay Toyota ang tatak pero Denso din and same part number.
It wouldn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion from another shop. Hindi naman siguro magtatampo ang shop mo.
Having tinted windows does lessen the work of the a/c. But not having tint will not prematurely destroy the a/c. After all, it was designed to work in other markets (with similar or hotter weather) where tinting is generally not allowed.Last edited by OTEP; September 13th, 2006 at 05:58 PM.

Pre na-check ba kung may leak yung condenser mo or kung may bara sya? If you don't see any leaks you don't need to replace it. Kung barado naman may chemical lang na inilalagay para mawala ang bara. Madalang masira ang condenser.
AFAIK kung R12 gamit mo ok na ang serpentine (walang coating) pero most vehicles that have R134A laminated na ang condenser (may coating) para mas matibay.

I don't have an Innova sorry. In some engines they can have as many as 3 including the timing belt.
