"From mbeige: Recently I didn't notice getting shocked on the Corolla, however. This probably is seasonal, dahil nung summer and spring lang malakas pero ngayong fall and the coming winter, wala."
- Since I got my corolla ganyan na sya, mas malakas pa nga ngayong fall, aray ko!

Hmm, pwede rin masmalakas ngayong fall dahil dry na talaga yung weather and getting colder too.
Even if you wear rubber shoes, yung katawan mo mismo ang nakadikit sa upuan which creates the charge when you move around your seat or rub your back sa backrest, etc.
I guess yung Corolla namin dahil pareho tayo ng upuan, nagkakaroon din nun. Pero lately walang shock eh. Dati matindi talaga, napapatalon pa ako! Yung MBs naman naka vinyl seats (similar to leather yung texture) kaya siguro walang static charge.

Masakit nga yang ESD ...
I used to have the same problem on my old Civic. When I got rid of the old floor mats, nawala na talaga ... yung driver's floor mat, may wool na heel pad.

ESD probably. Happens a lot to me when I hold onto a metal door after sitting for a few hours on a monobloc chair in an airconditioned room (e.g. pag nasa Internet cafe).
IMO, nothing's wrong. It's just that the low-humidity conditions and the electrostatic nature of the seats you're sitting on create a very good environment for electrostatic buildup.
Yung pagkakuryente mo sa pinto, that's already discharging the static buildup on your body. Perfectly normal, if unpleasant, phenomenon.
Your body can store enough electrical energy to start a car (sabi sa old Discovery channel commercial).

Forgot the explanation though.

delicado yan lalo na kung nagpapa-gas ka --> ESD, leading and true cause of fuel fires! not the running engine or cellphones

. . I was advised kanina kung pano daw maiwasan makuryente, sinubukan ko nga na hawakan ang door frame habang nakaupo pa (sa una ninerbyos pako kasi alam ko masakit eh) at umaandar pa makina, surprisingly hindi nga ako nakuryente, kaya bumibitaw lang ako sa door frame pag nakalabas nako at isasara na ang pinto, then after ilang seconds sinubukan ko na hawakan uli't, hayun di na nga ako nakuryente. .
