Sir Bogeyman, binasa ko writeup ng Motolite about "Tropicalized" batteries. Eto sabi:
1. More electrolyte solution:
There is more electrolyte solution above the plates. This means that there is less chance of battery failure due to water loss.
2. Accessible cells:
Only Motolite MF batteries have accessible cells. This means consumers may prolong the service life of their battery by adding water after the warranty period has lapsed.
3. Thicker plates:
Motolite plates are packed with more active material. Thicker plates mean longer life.
Pansinin mo yung 1 and 2. Parehong may kinalaman sa tubig ng battery. It all boils down to losing water. Kung magdadagdag ka rin ng tubig, e di low maintenance nga ang mas may sense -- at di hamak na mas mura. Peace!![]()
based on my experience, maintenance free battery are not really maintenance free at all. one time while checking the battery, we decided to see what's inside- see if the water is still ok. it turns out, the water has gone out. so we have to buy distilled water and replenish the battery. mind you, the battery was only 6 months old (this was for the pick-up truck, for the sedan it was only 3 months).
maintenance free or not, nasa pag-gamit pa rin. my maintenance
free - 5 years na on Nov 27 singlakas pa rin ng kalabaw. yun nga
lang binuksan ko na after 2 years to check for the h20 level.
ngayon, check/add lang ako every month.
