September 17th, 2004 11:35 AM #1under ur rides' hood/bonnet
factory/aftermarket insulation- whats it really for???
aftermarket: is this ok??
aftermarket i've seen:
-looks like roof insulating material (silver color on 1 side sandwiching white foam like backing) silver color side will face u when u open hood
-usually meausured to cover inside of hood and glued on using rugby (i have it on good authority that heat resistant double sided tape is recommended here instead)

hood insulation is to prevent the heat from the engine from deteriorating (fading & cracking) your hood's paint job.

DIY lang yung hood insulation using yung roof insulating material. Ganun ginawa nung barkada ko auto niya. Rugby gamit niya. Katagalan natutuklap din pero hinahabol na lang niya ng pandikit.
I also use the same brand for my android auto medyo mahal compared sa non branded typc to c.
