baseline yung na sa manual (down to 89 RON yata puwede). Then variables sa suppliers and stations in terms of additives so di lang sa octane kundi sa detergents etc...for modern cars kasi, the ECU adjusts its parameters so sabi ng iba, better to stick to one para once optimized, wala nang re-tuning ng parameters. Then there's the condition of the cars.

Bottomline, what works diba? Kung saan hiyang yung makina vis-a-vis your driving style.

Tama, follow the recommended octane by the manufacturer.

Although has 9.6:1 lang ang ratio nitong Nissan 240SX 1993 DOHC 16V ko, nakalagay sa may odometer "Unleaded Fuel Only." Pero pag tinignan mo sa owners manual and gas gap: Premium Octane (91 Octane in California) is highly recommended for maximum performance. Nagkarga ako ng 87 one time, it takes a while to accelerate. Matagal na akong nakatapak sa gas, pero ambagal ng acceleration. I figured, if it takes me a while to accelerate, I will end up consuming more gas.

d best bet is to stick > manufacturers recommended octane rating..
pero kung seldom or stored ang paggamit ng tsikot, shift to highest octane kasi a long period of time degrade octane level w/ resulting to harmful preigntion/ knocking..>>hehe
