hi guys...just recently napansin ko may "humming sound" coming from the back ang vios ko..mdyo mahina ito...but audible ito kapag dumadaan ka sa straight or any types of road condition..
and kailangan naka patay stereo mo.
it's not the shocks since pag nalulubakan wala naman weird sound..
meron bang such thing as rear wheel bearing?...ito kasi ang hint ko, bka defective yung naibiga sa aking unit...and one more thing, i noticed that my car's rear drum brakes cover is already covered with rust? (ndi ko na naireklamo since gabi ko na claim car ko, and kinabukasan ko na napansin...by the way mag 1 month na pala car ko..and wala naman lumalabas na ingay sa first 3 weeks...)
question is: kaya ko naisali yung altis owners dahil altis car uses the same suspension set-up (torsion beam) at rear , same with the toyota vios. talaga bang tahimik ito or baka "guni-guni" ko lang yung maingay.
and 1 last question... kun kalawang yung rear drum brake covers...will it cause the car to have "humming sound" noise when running...or wala itong kinalaman?

    lagyan yung drum...

    1. meron bang such thing as rear wheel bearing?...<< yap meron

    2. kalawang yung rear drum brake covers...will it cause the car to have "humming sound" noise when running...or wala itong kinalaman?

yung drum mismo, 1 week palang namin ginamit...anyway
    pinalitan naman nila ng bago..

ano tatak ng gulong mo??? sensya na kung medyo parang off topic.. but some road noise or humming sound can be generated by a lousy set of tires. Especially yung mga NCTs ng Goodyear.... when the tire runs out... it is very audible.. kahit nga bago.. rinig pa rin eh.....

tires may also be the culprit. goodyears especially the low-end ones can be real noisy.

try swapping ur 4 tires to a friend who has the same tire spec but different brand as urs, and hear the difference.

Talagang kinakalawang ang contact points ng brake drums and discs. Lalo na pag matagal itong di nagagamit. But once used, ang maiiwang kalawang ay yung contact area ng mags/rims sa drums. Normal ito, di kailangang mabagabag.

Check your acceleration, di ba sya kinakapos or tope? Our Altis just stopped in the middle of the road after a month of usage; the culprit was a faulty fuel filter located under the rear seats. Madumi daw kaya pinalitan under warranty, funny... how did it happen? I don't know and we didn't bother to dwell on that matter.

hmm.. you might have a leak in your revo.. wala bang tagas sa master cylinder mo??>... i used to experience that in my MB diesel. after i replaced my master cylinder..nawala yung unti-unti nyang lubog after depressing. it might not be evident sa labas ng reservoir na may leak or even on the brake hoses.

mk, try mo nga magpalit muna ng gulong.. ask a friend to test muna... if the noise disappears with the changing of tires.. then gulong na nga...

my experience with NCT3 and NCT5 are....never mind... i have nothing good to say about those two. hehehehe

pedal taas baba parang nanginginig at
wala pang 1 month yung revo namin

mk, why don't you get a second opinion (other than the dealer's) first. Try chieffy. Magaling ang service team nila. Kengkoy pa.

mk, my vios is now on its 8th month and I beleive its the nct's of goodyear. just turn on the stereo and listen to your favorite music then drive away. when its time to change tires put a non goodyear brand. anyways, the 2006 vios is now fitted with bridgestone tires which is a good move by toyota.

wheel bearing is a very remote culprit..considering bago pa yang oto mo.....pag ito ang may problema....hindi ka talaga mapapakali....uugong yan....this is a major part.

what you can do is go to a underchassis specialist...servitek, carguard, etc....and have your car lifted and inspected for humming noise...kapag wheel bearing ang problema..kita agad yan ng mekaniko.

i can hear noise whenever i pass to straight lanes and nice roads.. experience whenever i run 60kph up straight. the more speed the more i hear it.. for me its normal and i think it's just the tires that make sounds.

    2nd opinion you get check-up

The more you pressure the service station to come up with a diagnosis, baka lalong magkamali-mali pa.
