May 29th, 2005 08:30 AM #1Parang namamalya ang acceleration ng car ko ngayon at sometimes ang RPM ay ayaw umakyat ng mas mataas sa 4500rpm, kase-service lang few months ago with new plugs. Idling is okey pag lang nirerebolusyon parang nagmimiss. Its for a W202.

Lalo bang nasisira to pag tinanggal mo at linisin.

hmm..some use pressurized air to clean the maf...id rather be on the safe side...kasi pag nasobrahan ng buga..may masisira na sensor..yari!!!expensive mistake talaga.

Whats your car BTW?
Check first the following:
- air filter
- spark plugs (is this OEM to your car?).
- fuel filter/system
- sparkplug wires

contact cleaner should be OK, but CARB or THROTTLE BODY cleaner is not.
is it a "resistive wire" type MAF or a vane-type MAF? yung resistive wire ang pwedeng i-contact cleaner. You have to open up your air intake though para makita. It should look silvery. If it's brown or black..... bad yun. :P
Very expensive pa naman ang MAF. Kahit sa Jap car 5 digits ang cost nun (new). I assume you are using a Benz? pa-casa mo nalang. Katakot.

June 9th, 2005 03:45 AM #9I got this experience with a siraniko that destroyed the MAF on my Sentra. I brought it to the CASA (NGQA) and they said ang replacement is 10.5k wala pang labor. Pero I talked with people sa Banawe and found a replacement worth 8k lang. I took the risk, pero ok na yung car afterwards.

The tambays in Banawe usually charge more... It's easier to go door-to-door with the surplus shops.
The MAF or the screw to adjust it should never be touched BTW... some mechanics touch it thinking it's for the idling.
Choice I would have made as well.
