    safety?...hmmm. just be sure you don't drop it on your foot :D

    Yun mechanic ko uses gasket sealer though I think kahit wala nito ok lang. Tighten to the specified torque setting na nasa shop manual. Cross pattern (up-down, left-right, etc.). Be sure you tighten the bolts almost the the same time, unti-unti. Eto lang alam ko. Wait natin reply ng mga experts.

    proper cylinder head bolts tightening sequence for a 4 cylinder engine is...

    8..4...1..5...9
    ( ) ( ) ( ) ( )
    7..3..2...6..10

    torque first to 10% of required torque in sequence 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 then torque it to the final torque, also in the same sequence. do the final torquing twice. so if you will notice parang pa-ikot ang bolt tightening sequence starting from the middle then going out. the reason why the center bolts are torqued first is to spread out the head. if you start from one side then the head will tend to twist.

    pwede din yung sabi ni afrasay na unti-unti ang torque setting. so instead na 10%-100%-100% you can do it in several steps like 10%-30%-50%-100%-100% of bolt torque. just make sure you do the 100% twice.

    for a 6-cylinder it will be ...

    good points from sir yebo, to add there are those with torque to yield bolts that need head bolts replacements, there are also specified torque and procedure ; thus you need a service manual as your guide. depending on type of engine, you may find some in the internet.

    replace all the bolts coz you'll never know which is good and bad by just visual inspection.replace head gasket with mls gasket(if available on your car)make sure the deck is flat and straight.ONE word make sure your mechanic has TORQUE WRENCH.

    slamat po, ok talaga dito..yung mga piston po ba kahit san ang pwesto, ilalapat lang ba yung cylinder head? o may posisyon pa yung mga piston bago ikabit yung timing belt?
