meron din akong gauge na ganyan sa auto ko.
kapag mataas ang rpm ko at nasa 5th gear ako
nagsasalita ang gauge ko - "hon, masyado ka ng mabilis."
hehehe.

it's generally better to cruise at 5th gear. 5th gear acts like the overdrive function of some a/t cars, where you save a bit more gas at the same rpms. don't know how this works though.
depending on the design of the engine...some v8s cruise at lower RPMs. japanese 4 cylinders run nicely at 2000 petrol, maybe 1500 for diesel.

1.3s to 1.6s run comfortably at 2000 rpm... bigger engines can be lugged at 1500 rpm in 5th gear.
Best cruising rpm? Whatever your car is doing in top gear at 60 km/h. Any faster and you're burning gas to fight wind resistance, any slower and the power the engine supplies to the accessories becomes a factor.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
there's this youtube article, about a 2000s altis, that had a high rpm on cold start (2000+ daw),...
high idle RPM at engine start
