    Hello mga peeps, ano kaya ang sanhi ng ganitong hard start... Minsan maganda ang start niya minsan ayaw mag-start... Pag-ayaw mag-start ginagawa ko is kinakaskas ko ng liha ung mga wire sa distributor cap para umandar... bumili na rin ako ng bagong sparkplug baka mahina na kasi yung spark... so far so good maganda ang start ng engine nung bago yung mga sparkplug after a week nahihirapan na naman siyang mag-start... but this time kahit kaskasin ko na ung mga wire sa distributor cap hindi na umaandar.

    ano kaya ang sanhi nito?

    probably your car needs a comprehensive tune-up.
    as for your distributor, spray some contact cleaner on the contact points in order to remove the corroded contact points. check also your high tension wires if they're still supplying strong current of electricity that your engine needs. kung extra budget ka pa, i recommend installing grounding wires, recommended din ito sa tsikot na medyo luma na tulad ng sa atin (1992 yung sa akin).

    How about the contact point, condenser, poles inside the dist.cap, high tension wire for resistance or even the ignition coil. Check the condition.

    tama si zero at si 4JGtootsie. habang lumuluma ang mga electrical/electronic components ng sasakyan tumataas din ang resistance ng mga ito. kaya mahina ang kuryente papunta sa plugs.

    dagdag lang po, paki silip ang bagong kabit na plugs, kapag ito ay maiitim baka pumapasok na rin ang langis sa cylinder at sinusunog ang plugs. 1990 ang makina at baka may problema na sa piston rings.

    about sparkplug, medyo maitim ung part kung saan nagkakaroon ng spark... hindi ko alam kung normal yung or may tama na yung piston ring...

    ang dami actually pwede panggalingan nyan. it could be a coil problem, condenser, carb problem baka lunod sa gas, in which case you will be looking at check valve, plunger.

    is that 1.3 or 1.6 engine?

    you have to bring it to a shop for check up but the suggestions so far given is a good place to start.

    Maitim na sparkplug.
    Kapag itim (dry hindi basa) ang spark plug ang Air/Fuel mixture mo too rich, the carb setting incorrect o kaya yong flame arrestor mo marumi o di kaya mounting problem.

    Maari din mali ang heatrange ang plug na nabili mo. Masyadong malamig para operating condition ng kotse.

    O may problema ka sa ignition system mo causing a weak or intermittent spark. Major tune up ( palit lahat kung pwede, pati kotse na) ang kailangan lang niyan

    matanong ko naren po. Kase yung sakin naman po, hindi or ayaw manlang magredondo, parang walang pumapasok na kuryente sa makina, kahit na ilang beses ko na iistart. wala manlang tunog. ano po kaya ito? sa sparkplug? tension wire? Distributor?

    have you checked the battery? kung sure ka na working ang battery mo, baka sa igniter sa loob ng distributor.

    hanap ka nang shop na merong electronic diagnostic equipment para ma-complete check-up ang electrical/electronic ignition system ng kotse. para ma check na lahat ng nabanggit sa previous post ng mga kasama natin. yan ang electrical side.

    sa mechanical side naman. nabanggit mo na kapag nililinis mo ang plugs umaandar ang makina.

    kapag pumapasok na ang langis sa cylinders mabilis umitin ang sparkplugs. kahit 3 days to one week use palang maitin na. minsan sa ganitong kondisyon napupundi agad ang plugs kahit isang linggo lang. subukan mong palitan ng plugs (tamang klase or heat range) ... kapag umandar, subukan mong gamitin hanggang isang linggo at i-check mo ang plugs. kapag maitim o napundi ulit. ipa check na ang makina kung merong "pumping oil". mga additional signs nito ay:
    * mabahong usok (nakakubo pag inamoy)
    * ma-usok kapag nag-accelerate sa pataas
    * umuusok kapag naka-idle lang
    * malagkit at maitim ang nakadikit sa looban ng exhaust pipe.

    In a way nakarelate ako dito. Yung sakin po kasi pag umaga, habang pinapainit yung sasakyan, tubig na may halong parang abo` yung binubuga or dinudura(sorry for the term) nung tambucho, pro nde naman po siya langin kasi po hinawakan ko yung binugang tubig na maitim. Or langis po talaga yun, kaso muka lang pinaghalong abo` at tubig? Tapos po yung usok na nanggagaling sa tambucho is white naman po not blue. kaya po mejo naconfuse ako. hehehe...

    Nacheck ko po yung battery, ok naman po. Iam setting aside po yung battery since Bagong palit lang po ako nung end of nov.

    Tapos po pag "Igniter" naman po yung problema, tama po ba na kahit papano mag-reredondo yung sasakyan, tapos hanggang redondo lang pro hindi magiistart?

    Tapos po pagka naman po "starter" po yung problema, kahit anong pihit ng susi sa start, walang nangyayari, ni-redondo, wala po? tama po ba?

    Dont assume your battery is working properly even just bought that recently/ A dead battery not really a bad one it just lost the charging system. Try check your battery if it is good, turn on your doom lights and start your car, if your doom light didnt go dim then probably its good. If your doom light goes out or it dim, your battery charging system is low. Recharge it before use.

    If all this are fail to solve your problem, check your battery connection for corrosion in the terminal and the cable connector, clean it and tighten all the bolts. If this still wont work then remove your starter to have your solenoid check this causing starter will not cranked or not a click sounds because your solenoid is bad.. This the most common problem of a car involving no current. Remember that this is electrical not mechanical so your problem is mostly dealing with ignition (DC)system. Kapag hindi parin masagot yong problema eh......palit nalang ng kotse. Joke lang .

    tama po.

    had the same problem before. i turn on the key to start, just a click happens, no redondo at all. battery was drained, had it recharged and okay na. the following day ganun na naman.

    turns out that the alternator was bad, it was draining the battery overnight. nung pinalitan ko yung alternator, okay na.

    look into v6dreamer's post also.

    Just an update.

    I had my car checked kanina, and fix my car problem, it turns out that the starter is the problem. The electrician had removed the starter and fix it. I only spend around P150 pesos for the replacement of parts inside the starter and P300 + P50 bonus for the labor and "whaalla" one click and the engine starts running. haaay... at least mejo magaan sa bulsa.

    ok tong thread na to. kakakuha ko lang ng 1991 corolla ganun rin yung experience ko pag cold start. kailangan pa mag gas ng tatlong beses para
    di mamatay yung makina.

    yung akin naman may usok daw pansin ng kapatid ko nung nakasunod sa sa skyway. magkano ang aabuting gastos. kaya kaya sa tune-up yan.
