Mayroon pa bang manual "choke" yung carburator mo? My oldschool car have this... so for a one click start, I choke the carb muna, pagka-start atsaka ko i-rerelease and choke slowly, taking note of the idling.

Yung naidrive ko na corolla dati na 2E carb engine (not a 4AGE like yours) have an "automatic" choke mechanism when you start it....since mechanical ito, merun tendency na magwear down ito.

+1 on this.

based on your avatar, you have a corolla ae92. most models has manual choke (im not sure sa mga automatic, rare ksi ae92 na automatic), nasa left side just below the steering wheel. yung parang button na hihilahin mo.

pag cold start, depress pedal for 2 seconds then pull the choke and then start the engine. after around 30 seconds slowly ibalik mo na yung choke.
