That's commonly called a bug shield or hood guard

It's supposed to help prevent stone chips from occuring at the leading edge of the hood and supposed to prevent bugs from splatting onto your windshield. Disclaimer. This effect usually only happens at interstate/highway speeds.

It disrupts the lines of the vehicle. Parang nose heavy.

These things are sold in Banawe or by EGR (Liftruk Marketing) in Sampaloc.

ang tawag dyan, Bug Deflector. nagagamit yan most especially sa country road where one is most susceptible sa mga bug splatter from getting onto your windshield.

anyways, ang wing spoiler naman para sa downforce nang sasakyan. you don't need those 2-layered devices. looks ricey. besides, these things only effective when you're cruising no less than 200 kph all the time. why not try the "duck tail", a black spoiler like lip adhered to the trunk. no drilling at all!

BTW.

Unless you are driving on a race-track conditions with speeds up to 200kph, putting spoilers on road cars like Toyotas or Hondas are purely for show. I doubt there are any public roads in the Phil. na merong straight lines and hair-pin turns, ala-Nurburgring, that you can do 200kph on a daily basis.

So there, pick a spoiler that will look nice on your Corolla and forget about the performance benefits (its negligible). I prefer subtle ones, like ducktails and low profile ones. GrupoToyota.com has Corollas in your model range that have nice spoilers. You could get your inspiration from them.

heard awhile ago that ducktails costs about 1500 pero itim lang. for me parang porma lang ito e. i don't know if one can rip the benefits from such spoilers- at least in that size.

for the chin spoilers, i think it streamlines your car by minimizing the approaching wind.
