Actually you can do your initial sludge inspection by removing the oil cap. Get a flashlight then peep inside. You can also try to put your finger inside and check underneath kung may sludge. Color black yun so kitang kita. Minsan parang nagsesebo sebo pa...hehe

You can also check your dipstick. Color of oil should be clear without any black residues.

Last week nag full tank ako to the brim (Altis 1.6E). ( di pala tutuo ang balita na tataas ang gas last week.

) Tumakbo na ng mga 300Km+ pero mababa lang ng konti sa kalahati ang fuel meter. FC is looking good. malamang better than my Avanza

AT ba ang altis mo? Should be around that range. Aabot ka nyan up to 330kms. Mabilis na bumaba ang needle once you reach the half mark..hehe.

You should be getting around 8.5-9km/l.

A/T 2001 nabili, 2002 model 1.6E. nakuha namin about 2 weeks ako (2nd hand). Nasa almost 78,000 na ang current milage.

OK lang ba na ordinary unleaded (93 octane) ang gamit or dapat talaga na 95 octane?

Manual specifies 95 ron but as long as engine is happy with using 93 ron, okay lang yun.

I read the manual, pag thailand daw dapat 95 RON pag di thailand parang 90 RON (di ko na sure

). Ang tinandaan ko lang ay ok ang 93 RON na unleaded fuel natin locally.

Speedy: Not fixed yet. Thing is its my dad using it now and inspite of my weekly reminder to have it fixed, mukhang hindi siya bothered. I'm kinda pissed nga kasi napaka hard headed. He thinks that its normal lang daw na may sludge (Hindi kasi niya nakita how it looks like). Sabi ko it'll just konk out on him. Lately hindi na umiilaw yung warning light...hintay hintay ko lang pag napadalas yan malamang ipapa-sched nya yan sakin.

By the way, I'm still looking for time to visit your shop to have my MAF sensor cleaned. I'm also thinking of having the oil flushed next oil changed. I'm really getting paranoid because of this vvti sludging issue. So far malinis naman yung altis na gamit ko (maroon one).

Yep pwedeng-pwede ang lowest octane fuel natin sa Altis. As you mentioned our lowest-octane fuel is 93 RON. I think only the Thailand models need 95 RON for the 1.6L models.
