January 23rd, 2004 10:01 AM #1Hello everyone! Just got a 91 Subic Prado SX5 and slowly but surely taking out all the bugs. May question lang sa mga Subic Prado gurus out there. Meron center differential lock indicator
Thanks sa lahat for any input/advice.

Kapag hindi locked ang C/D, it will transfer power to the axle with the least traction (which is pretty useless). The C/D is unlocked to allow it to operate in 4wd on pavement (para walang binding effect <---reasearch on this).
Sa Pajero, automatic ang pag-lock ng C/D when you shift to 4Hlc onwards.
Try mo shift sa 4L kung iilaw. C/D does not really offer much advantage off-road. When locked, it will just function like most other direct-drive 4x4 systems. Sa onroad ang advantage ng being able to unlock it.
Now, if you got yourself some front and rear lockers, ayun ang advantage! hehehehe.

January 24th, 2004 12:56 PM #3Thanks for the reply. Sinubukan ko na un shift to L4 before
and the lights doesn't turn on. Pero pag start ng kotse it tests
the circuit umiilaw sandali. As you mentioned, kailangan talaga mag lock ung center diff sa off road kung hindi useless 4wd eto.
Thanks again. BTW parang may tatlo ngang electrical senders nakakabit sa center diff baka isa papuntang switch na hindi kinabit.

Did you by any chance tested to shift it into 4L while the vehicle was in stop position? Did you try to move the vehicle and checked if the light did go on?

January 24th, 2004 01:30 PM #5Thanks for feedback, Ungas, sa off road ko pa nga sinubukan L4
ayaw umilaw and unlike a Pajero pag naka L4 halata agad mahirap iliko sa mga curbada(locked). Baka kaya nakalimutan kabit ng Subic ang switch:

Possible, baka po hindi nila alam kung para saan yun at di na rin ikinabit yung wirings. Kadalasan di lang po isang function ang nawawala or di naiikabit ng maayos, better check on some of its other features.
