or you can join me here sa new company na sinalihan ko. mas mababa sweldo ($7k plus for technical supvs) pero meron naman 401k, dollar-for-dollar up to 6%. di lang gaano maganda ang health care, Cigna health kasi e mahirap daw maningil. all new build high spec rigs (15 new jackups, all fully automated). they are looking to crew 7 more rigs. positions available are chief mech, chief elec, ET, barge master, materials coordinator, QHSE officers, ARS, TP and rig manager. just visit the website at www.premiumdrilling.com as they only accept applications there.

401k is the common name of a US law that adds more benefits to the US Social Security. it is a pension scheme wherein an employee contributes part of his salary and the employer matches it, either dollar-for-dollar or 50cents for every dollar. most have tiered schemes, like an employee gets an equivalent employer contribution "dollar-for-dollar" for the first x percent, then 50 cents of employer contributions for every dollar the employee puts in for the next x percent. the fund is then invested in the employees own choice of investment, which may be a combination of securities, deposits and equities. although this pension scheme has been adopted by many companies worldwide, the name "401k" has stuck and is used to refer to such pension schemes.
so when i said "401k" and "dollar-for-dollar up to 6%", that means if you (the employee) contribute 6% of your salary then the employer also contributes the equivalent amount of dollars to YOUR fund. it is a very good pension system since the employee has control of his pension and the choice of investment it is put in. di gaya ng ibang pension fund that is tied to the company the employee works for, pag bumagsak yung company then bagsak din ang pension ng employees. Enron is a good example of this failed employee pension fund. with the 401k, the investment is spread across a portfolio of investments and the risks of the employee losing his retirement investments are lower.

Hello mga Pips.
Just wanted to ask..Paano ba ang kalakaran sa Oil and Gas..Lets say a company is offering 6K ot 8K USD per month..
Are there any other benefits or allowances? Is the 6K all in your pocket?
How about Schooling benefits? Transpo? Housing? Other benefits? Sorry for the ignorance.
