A friend's son now drives the family's old '98 Sentra EX Saloon, 1.4L. No major problems whatsoever. As easy to maintain as a similar model Corolla. Replacement parts are easy to find and of good quality as long as they're the reputable brands (Kayaba, NGK, etc.). Yun lang nga, sa kalumaan, they're noticing more parts needing replacement. Btw, this site might be helpful as it provides an idea of how much the casa charges for basic maintenance: http://www.nissan.com.ph/valueserv_print.html
My friend's son refers to this when he has the car serviced at their suking mekaniko. So they know if they're spending within the right range or if they're getting overcharged.

Owned some models of Nissan Sentra. Box types B12 and their problematic clutch cables. The Series 3 or B14 was a much better Sentra. The Exaltas B15 have sub par suspension, bilis kumalampag at di maayos ayos . You will know how reliable the car make is by the number of older models in good condition still on the road. Toyotas hands down compared to other brands. Haven't bought a Nissan since 2001 and will never consider buying one again.

September 16th, 2010 10:00 PM #17Yes,its really true that the nissan brand is better aircon kasi nga over size ang evaporator & condinser compared other brand but it comes to maintenance its worse. way back yr 98-2005 i owned s3 96mdl performance is wise especially engine & under chasis matibay. sa engine advantage din kasi nka timing chain compare other brand. Yun nga lang it comes to resale value talo....

I would recommend Nissan. I owned one Sentra LEC PS and it was one reliable car. Never had major problems. Most of the problems are known and there is almost always a quick and cheap fix for it.
Again, I would recommend Nissan, even yun mga bagong cars nila. Maganda rin naman quality. If you will buy a 2nd hand Nissan, siguraduhin mo lang na inalagaan ng husto ng owner.

September 16th, 2010 11:04 PM #20Most of the replies, seems like a nissan sentra 96 is a good choice huh?
what are the major problems you encounter guys using a nissan car ?
3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
