April 26th, 2010 07:17 AM #2I had a similar query back in January 2010. We both have N16 Sentras (mine is a gen 2) ...
pero re an SR engine swap, you might want to check this thread:
http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66835
I have a QG13DE engine. I'm not so sure if your Grandeur engine belong to the QG or QR generation, but I think (please correct me on this) we basically have the same engine bay layout since we both have N16 chassis.
On that thread:
http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66835
Sir GH said he doesn't know of anyone yet at that time who did an SR swap on the N16. He gave a link to foreign-based forums which imply an SR20DE swap on an N16 Sentra is possible.
Sir Niky said it may be done (SR swap), but thinks huge considerations on engine generation gap (SRs are old but still reliable engines) and electrical mishaps might come out.
Nissan guys like yummy gave suggestions that went as far as swapping in the QR25DE (X-Trail and USDM B15 Sentra SE-R engine) or some V6 engines (VQ engine).
I did my homework as well:
Street Specs Banawe said they could do an SR20DE swap on N16.
But when I asked if they already did it, they said "not yet, but we think its possible"... implying risks bigtime engine bay/mounting fabricatio, electrical and EFI issues and no warranties.
Friends from a southside club who are SentraClub of the Phils (SCPH) mafias said an SR20DE swap on N16 aint possible.
What I did:
I felt lucky with my newer engine (QG13DE) which gives really good fuel economy and enough power even on highway sprints.
I ended up spending my budget for something else such as big wheels, suspension upgrades and buying a 1990s car to toy with.
Sayang bago pa kasi under warranty pa nga.
Anyway, no guru here but the link could help.

April 26th, 2010 02:58 PM #4Maraming salamat po sa mga inputs nyo, I have no bad comments on this kind of car (B14) lots of good memories ang iniwan ng FE (I/H/E,milled head) namin but anyways we will do some research before we commit on buying one in few months time. Personally po kasi I love Sentra's lamig at marami rin po tuners sa atin(almost the same narin po ata ito sa Civic eh but I could be wrong) so as of the moment hanap muna po ng mga iba pang inputs on what car to choose....

b14 is a good car..pero kung gusto mo loaded hanap ka ng b14 na exalta STA-body... scratch the engine, retain the interior, and put on GT-S bumpers and spoilers...
dati kong pangarap un, pero now iba na....
the generic answer for all cars is, "yes but", i am wary of the increased glare that can blind...
