Ecosport is higher and has an advantage in water wading. But as Challenger75 says, transmission issues are very imminent in the Ecosport they can really be felt while driving. Plus i believe the build quality of the Juke is much better than the Eco.

DCTs are naturally jerky, but that's inherent and not a problem per se, just as the rubberband effect of CVTs isn't necessarily a problem.
Now, if the Ecosport suffered the same TCM issues as the first batch of Fiestas and Focuses, that's a different story. But last time I checked, the Ecosport hasn't had any widespread DCT problems.

I agree... but consider this, the DCT tranny is sealed, but when we drained one (diagnosing a defective one- it wont go to reverse), the oil that flowed was putrid and looked like it came off a 10 year old tranny.
granting that they've solved the DCT issue for the new Ecosport and Fiesta's, the DCT's dependence on sensors rather than more reliable oil - pneumatic-mechanical parts of a traditional automatic tranny makes me a little squeamish. Typical Ford, too much dependence on sensors that are prone to failure.
Talking about CVT's, the Mirage has a better real time / real world CVT response than the DCT... it drowns the engine a little bit ( characteristic of a CVT) but the response at traffic is almost rocket like.
But like I said, there has been no Ecosport tranny issues as of late... so maybe the reliability part is ok... now if they could make it more responsive in traffic conditions... it would be great.
Don't know what DCT you compared the Mirage with, but between the Mirage and the Fiesta or Focus, the latter has much quicker response in all cases except when coming from a slow crawl and then suddenly flooring it (typical DCT shudder before getting in the proper gear). But from a standing start, or when overtaking on a highway, the DCT delivers power right away.
Nonetheless, like you, I still have my reservations on DCTs. But no longer to the point that it'd be a deal-breaker. A CVT with an awful rubberband effect (like most econoboxes) is more of a dealbreaker for me.

Hi Jut703,
I was comparing the DCT of the pre MMC Fiesta and the current Ecosport, I feel the Mirage has more CVT response in traffic situations. At from a stand still, They feel the same for me, maybe it's higher power and torque of the Fiesta and Ecosport coming into play .... Maybe this aspect is more persona and subjective.
Lets agree to disagree.
BTT. Been seeing a lot of Juke pull outs from Nissan -Starmotors...Mostly red and Yellow.
A Nissan Carmona SA called me up that a yellow Juke is readily available if I switch.... I'm waiting for my Bank PO....
Congrats petixs on your new juke coming very soonI had the same dilemma last week between yellow and red... In the end, I let my 1-year old daughter choose, whatever color she touches first wins and I put her exactly in the middle of those two units. Now I'm driving a red juke. Hehe!

In terms on interior to finish, I personally like the HRV. Gotta admit that the space inside the juke is a bit cramped for me... Though my nephew who is a college boy at 5'9 rode at the back last sunday and I ask him, 'you ok in there? Could you fit your ass at the back comfortably?' He just said I'm good and his knees are not yet touching the passenger seat in front. Oh, and there are 3 of them at the back with 2 nieces as well both adult.
Was in Nissan Ortigas this morning and this was their display. SA said the in demand colors are white and yellow. Not too much orders for red and black daw.
Also went to Honda to take a look at the Jazz. Planning to get a vehicle in Feb or March and deciding between the Juke and the Jazz. Not the same category but basis is size and price (between 900k to 1M). It will be something anybody in the family or the 5 of us can use but most of the time it'll be used by our 2 college boys (na magkalayo ang eskwelahan so jack and poy sila. Hehehe). Still undecided between the 2. The Jazz is more spacious while the Juke is higher (we live in the Ortigas ext area so ride height is a consideration) Took a look at the HR-V too pero it's beyond our price range. If it were priced nearer the Juke then no question na sana.
The things going against the Juke for me are it costs more, it's interior is smaller, and if we get one, it'll be our 3rd Nissan and Nissan parts are expensive because konti lang yung mga replacement (we have a Livina and a T32).
my humble opinion, if you want to be practical, get the jazz. but if you want to stand out and have more fun, get the juke
parts and service would be more or less the same for both brands with jazz parts being more readily available in the casa and banawe.
have seen the jazz but havent seen the juke personally though. my 2 cents![]()

Have you seen the mazda 2? Much cheaper yung mid-level nila or hatchback... made in japan, no need to worry for 3 years since parts, labor including consumables such as oil is sagot na nila. Ganda pa mga review sa kanya. I was thinking about it also before buying the juke. Hope I didn't confuse you even more. Hehe!
*blooperoo i think if your priority is utility, then go for the Jazz. But as you said it would be mostly used by your 2 college boys, i would think mas gusto nila Juke (mas japorms).
Regarding parts, my parents have a Honda, as far as i know parts are expensive as well...
