1. presence or absence of the thermostat does not affect final engine temp or cause overheating. what the thermostat does, is to make the engine temp rise faster, resulting in reduction in pollution emission, and in improvement in fuel efficiency, even if only a little bit.
the thermostat's effect is more palpable in temperate countries where ice and snow are seen.

2. abnormal loss of coolant in the reservoir, suggests your engine or radiator is blowing a lot of steam into the reservoir, causing the coolant therein to heat up and boil away.
a. have your aux fans evaluated. maybe they do not draw as much air as before.. baka dapat nang palitan. or,
b. mebbe your radiator cap needs replacement. or,
c. your radiator is blocked (from the inside) and/or its fins are dirty (from the outside).
another possibility is, your reservoir leaks.

boss pareho tyo ng problem ganyan din sa exalta ko tumataas din ang temp... pero sabi ng mekaniko hindi nman nag ooverheat... bakda daw sira yung panel or grounded... so far ganun pa din ang problema ko... na solve nba yung problema mo?...

I presently own a nissan exalta grandeur 2004 (AT). I got it from a friend of mine. 99T+ km. na sya. So far eto pa lang yung napaayos ko:

Done with the following:
- Change oil (semi-synthetic - done in shell service center)
- under coating

Issue(s)
- me basag yung door handle (where can I buy this? - wala na sa mga concorde/blade)
- radio antenna ( defective - di na tumataas and parang naiipit)
- annoying vibrating sound when AC unit is on 4 (primary concern since I have 2 kids who have asthma).
- cranking sound when releasing the brake
- cracked radiator ( already soldered but im still worried since I'm a newbie driver)
- automatic alarm (not working)
- windshield washer (defective)

Hope you can give suggestion on my concerns.

check the glovebox for the ac filter... clean or replace. helps the asthmakids.

natagalan ng reply, pero solve ng overheating issue ko hehe. balik sa long drive na ulit si exalta.
eto mga list ng pinaayos ako with price:

checked and tidy-up all wirings - 2500
replace new radiator (old radiator got leak) - 4500
replace head gasket - 3500
new head gasket - 1000

medyo masakit pero di na umaangat temp kahit kainitan ng araw.

Ask lang po ako ng opinion and advise sa mga experts when it comes to exaltas. I have 2004 DS exalta A/T.

Problem po is ayaw nya tumuloy paminsan sa 2nd gear. Ang ginagawa ko po is pinapatay ko muna then start ulit tapos gumagana at umaandar na sya ng maayos. Ano po kaya ang possible problem? Thanks po mga sir sa sasagot.

of course, the default place would be nissan casa. you can ask them for the price of ATF replacement.
but be steadfast in what will be done to your car.
the guys there might suggest this and that, that will easily swell against your initial budget.

Thank you sir! Youve been very helpful! Question po ulit. Ano po kaya problem kapag kumakalampag yung 2 sides sa unahan kapag uneven yung road. Shocks? Bushing? Or ano kaya pwede gawin? Pasensya na sir kung madaming tanong baguhan kasi ako sa sasakyan sir

shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.
they are easily inspected and replaced, as all you have to do is to stand by as the mechanics do it. all that is needed is the money.
if cost is an issue, i have good experience with the sardine brand... 555.
as for shocks, if you can source oem... otherwise, kyb... i once used a cheaper shock (in my other non- nissan car). hayun, ang tagal bago lumambot ang shocks...
ask your auto parts guy, po. they know which brands are better, even if more expensive.

don't forget to align, afterward.

Mga sir,

baka naman may marerecommend kayong mekaniko ng exalta natin sa batangas area, (lipa or lemery). Nandun kasi yung sasakyan ko sa bahay ng wife ko need ko lang sana ng mekaniko for maintenance and pagtingin tingin ng sasakyan. Salamat and more power!
