Nissan's all-new Almera is all set for PIMS 2012 debut; Meet and greet 370Z designer, Randy Rodriguez

Get ready to go into high gear because Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) is putting the FUN in this year's 4th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Slated on August 16 to 19 at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Pasay City, NMPI's booth will be pure bliss as they bring in exciting new cars, with an appearance of a special guest that's close to home.

This is your chance to get up close and personal with Nissan's newest celebrities. Launched back in June, the dressed-up Grand Livina Highway Star will be shining on the show's floor, fitted with stylish upgrades from Autech Japan. Sharing the limelight is the new X-TRAIL Highway Star that's sure to dazzle.

The 4th PIMS also marks Nissan's entry into the subcompact car market when they debut the all-new Almera. Known as the Sunny in other countries, the Almera might just be as big as a Honda City, but its wheelbase comes up at a class-leading 2.60 meters that gives it extra rear leg room. Engine options could either be a three-cylinder 1.2L or a more conventional four-cylinder 1.5L, matched with Nissan's proven Xtronic CVT. And because it's currently being produced in Dongfeng Nissan's Huadu Plant in Guangzhou, China, prices should be low if it should ever be sold locally.
