    Hello tsikoteers!

    Good day!

I am having a problem with my Idling and timing, here's what happend.

I followed the excaxt procedure in my FSM and the one posted at NF (Nissan Forums) but the idle is still high though the screw was fully decreased and the timing is at 0BTDC mark on the pulley even though it's fully advanced (CW) I don't know what's happening I hope you guys can help me!

    Thanks in Advance!

medyo mahirap yata yan ah. one at a time muna tayo.
    1. EFI or Carb-type ba siya.

    Hi!

Yes, I'm sorry I forgot the post the details.

    The car is
    1997 Nissan Sentra S3 SS
    GA16DNE Engine its EFI
    228,333kms
    Acquired Bnew

    Here it is:

We started of by cleaning the throttle body and the IACV valve then I think the gasket wasn't replaced and the IACV wasn't sealed.

I thought it was fine then when we set the Idling speed sagad na sa dulo yung idling screw so we tried to adjust the timing pero kapag nilalagay namin sa dulo yung distributor eh ang reading sa timing light ay 5 BTDC lang sagad na iyon so binabaan namin para tumama yung idle pero yung timing ay nacompromise at wala na sya dun sa mga timing marks kaya ayun bagal ng hatak. And while adjusting the distributor nakukuryente ako, normal ba yun? although high tension yung nandun makukuryente ba talaga ko?

    Hope you guys can help!

    Thanks!

    Kurby

regarding dun sa kuryente - your high tension wires might have been worn out. buy a new set of HTW (ngk or OEM...don't get other brands, they suck)

check your distributor if it has oil leaking in it.

Bro, may tumatalon? Whajamin?

Tsk tsk....

Tapos may napagtanong kami sa ADVANCE sa Pasay along Taft Ave, his name was Percy.

Then after some time (last week) pina check ko yung IACV-AAC Valve at sobrang dumi...

Nung ibinalik chineck ko yung idle and timing....

Nope haven't changed the HT since it was 1st bought bnew (1997).
Okay I'll look for OEM or NGK btw how much are those? hehehe Any Ideas?

Nope, new o-ring no oil leak in the dissy....

    Thanks!

For your info, ignition timing of GA 16 DNE engine is 10 degrees BTDC, not 5 degrees. Use a suitable timing light in setting timing, RPM reading, not the usual tantiameter. Just don't let backyard mechanics tinker the sensors without the proper knowhow, equipment and service manuals. Better call this shop, Lito Motors, 892-3458. They could help you in your car's problem.

Anyways I'll try to call the number you gave me and post some feedbacks.

    Thanks!
