I've been a fan of the Nissan GTR. I'm totally in love with the said car (from your old school Hakosuka to the technological and mechanical monster of an R35). It's just that I'm wondering why it's not being sold by Nissan here in the Philippines. Were there any reported constraints and/or reasons why? And, for a supercar rated to be less costly than its European cousins, why is it that when it's sold by non-Nissan distributors, the cost is, at the least, tripled? As a frustrated and newbie car enthusiast, if anyone can expound on such rules and reasons, i'd appreciate it very much.

On another note, I've seen a couple being driven around here in Manila. Knowing that it costs less and performs way better than your average supercar (so says a number of mags and car reviews), I was kind of hoping to see more of the rich people getting into and driing off in one. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but, honestly, I'm hoping I could have one myself. Who knows? Mag dilang anghel sana ko!!!

Import taxes. That's why it's expensive. Same goes with every other cars being sold here.

Not sure why NMPI didn't bring in the GTR here. But then, NMPI has the littlest will when it comes to bringing in new Nissan models here so that's to be expected. And maybe, Nissan doesn't even see a huge market for the GTR. Wala pa nga yung unit sa dealer nila, they already have a competitor -- the grey markets, and there are lots of them, most even offering better packages.

"I've seen a couple..." only a couple?? I see more R35s than EVO 7-9s being driven around.

On a multi-million supercar level, the GTR is like the Ferrari. Common. Yet bewilders every person who pastes his eye on it.

Personally, among the "cheap" supercars available around, it's my top pick. Then the R8 comes next.

Yes, I've seen just a couple. In my defense, I may just not be looking hard enough.

I've seen an obsidian black and a gunmetal gray colored version being driven around the pasig and taguig area - both looked really nice.

Looking at prices posted online, ang sabi is that it comes in the range of 5M to 7.5M PHP for used to brand new ones, respectively. Pero, regardless, it's my top pick when it comes to supercars. As for comparison of costs, if you're referring to the new Hyundai sport coupe (Genesis, if I'm not mistaken - used by Rhys Millen in drifting), parang 1 1/2 to 2 full models yata mabibili mo sa presyo ng GTR.

No offense though, why compare it to the new Hyundai? Was there a new concept recently released by Hyundai which will match up to the GTR's AWD and 500-600 HP engine?

LOL! :D Sorry about that sir, but I just laugh when I read you thought these sportscars cost around 2m!! Like a Teana or Camry perhaps?? If that is the case all car enthusiasts is going to have the bargain of heir lives. LMAO. The Evos and Stis are around 2.3 to 3.3m, and the Z is around 3.6, what more will be this supercar... Anyways, at we now know. Maybe you sir is not into JDM performance cars perhaps.

Give and take you can see one or two every two to three weeks. Even more when you drive along BHS and the expressways during the wee hours. Especially the infamous Petron SLEX where supercars usually hang out during Sundays.

Seriously, the GT-R is very cheap for the performance it gives. Very capable in the track and in Everyday driving. But it's main rival, the 911 Turbo will always be a different performer. It may not be 'faster' than the GT-R on the track, but the driver involvement, how it feels to be driven, how fun it is to drive is really really something you will find only in a Porsche.

I agree, i see more GT-Rs than Evo's. Better yet, i see MORE STi's than Evo's. The Evo is just way too overpriced at 3~3.2M. While the STi just retails at ~around 2.3-2.4M. And the STi is much faster too.
I actually like the EVO 8/9 better than the current X. Dami kasing kamukha nung EVO X, ang dali naman gayahin. Unlike the 8 and 9, it'd take you forever to copy one. And a lot of fiberglass too...

Kung 2M pesos lang yan, magiging parang Vios yan. 6-7M is already cheap for a supercar. Kinda stupid that my friend purchased a brand new BMW Z4 just few days back rather than purchasing a 2012 GTR. Woulda been exciting to drive one around.

Tho di ako pwede mag-salita ng tapos against the Z4. Siguro pag na-drive ko na. for now, I'd let him enjoy his new toy first tapos ako naman.

22k per piece talaga. Those aren't just normal road tires, he's probably buying w to y rated tires road legal slick tires..
If you put Chinese tires on a GTR. That's like saying I'm ready to die anytime

I don't think there are already R35 Port Irene units. Maybe R32s-R34s yes, but R35... doubt it. Possible, but very few.

Para practical, C63 AMG nalang. Seats 5 real people in comfort. I know of someone who uses it on a daily basis to go to school. Then there's also this other guy who uses an IS-F as a daily school shuttle.

    Both are roughly under 7M.

Yes, and it's a hell of a beast too. Ipa-reflash mo lang then you get a car which you can take on formal meetings and at the same time on a track day as well.

But then, if I had 7M on hand, I'd probably spend it on a BMW 1M then the rest on mods... or a Mirage perhaps. :D According to a BMWCCP member, it's freakishly to drive!

GT-R parin para walang "Pre pasabay naman!"

o "Pre pasakay naman sa C63 mo"

    o "Pre pa-experience naman ng C63 mo"

Ayoko ng ganyan. Hahaha. Tapos dudumihan lang nila interior. Wag nalang. Madamot kung madamot

I dunno. I like the compact looks of the C63 better. Never mind if it's slower than the CLS or a GTR,

Call me weird, but I also like the M3 better than the M5, despite the fact that the M5 is more ballistic.

i also like the looks of the c63 better than the cls but i like the features and comfort the cls brings that the c63 could never bring. the c63's ride is very stiff compared to the cls and the cls has more legroom plus the features of the cls makes the c63's features look stone age.

the c63 black series in white to me is one of the ***iest looking car ever made.

Me too, actually I think it's my most favorite among the whole Benz line-up, next to the S65 AMG which is just perfect.

For the BMWs, I like the M3 better than the M5 as well. But it's still the 1M that I really really like.

Nissan GTR and Z meet...I wonder if they still do this very often.

Anyways, loved the GTR...it's the best value supercar.
