February 4th, 2009 12:49 AM #1The Hottest Supercar from the east that is the Nissan GT-R is not only busy on eating track meat in motorsports (2008 GT500 Champ), it is also having numerous recognitions from car critics from around the globe.
Since foreigners drove the GTR R32, they all have one thing in mind "this is what a Supercar is all about...", and they all agreed that this car is way advanced to be developed in the 90's; This kind of technology is only now beginning to be utilized by some of the rest - Porsche, BMW, and Ferrari - in their cars. Mitsubishi and Subaru have finally come close to matching the electronic all-wheel-drive technology of the GT-R, 15 years later. But they all had one problem... its not sold outside Japan!
Well now that it is they just couldn't help themselves but to appreciate the legendary Japanese car. Kudos to the Japanese car makers!
Here are some of the recognitions collected by the R35 Godzilla:
- Top Gear Awards 2007 - Supercar of the Year 2007
- Automobile Magazine - 2009 Automobile of the Year
- Evo Magazine Car of the Year 2008
- Edmunds - 2009 Edmunds' Inside Line Editors' Most Wanted Awards: Instant Classic
- Motor Trend - 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year

That's why it's called the "Holy Grail of Japanese Car Performance". If the other older GTRs were launched world wide it probably would be appreciated by foreigners outside Japan as well.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
