They shot themselves on the foot when they booted Ghosn out. Now, he will be getting the last laugh.
For mitsu, time to buy back the shares. Heheh

ghosn was fired because he asked for a high compensation package?
saikawa is stepping down voluntarily because someone is giving him a similarly high compensation package?

    what's with nissan?
    if they deliver... reward them!
if they don't deliver... don't reward them.

I still believe Ghosn is innocent. Style nila sa Japan, they will make you admit to a crime you did not do para matapos na. Akala yata nila bibigay si Ghosn.

Well Nissan themselves are instrumental to their downfall for the second time. And there won’t be anyone like Carlos to save them this time.

    is it possible,
his amazing escape from japan, is exactly what both parties wanted...?
    ...good escape and good riddance..
    save everybody the court woes..
i mean, what will either party get to gain from the court proceedings?
    my opinion.

I can understand the Japanese directors not wanting to lose the Japanese identitiy of Nissan.

This is my theory as well. The proposed merger was just the straw that finally broke the camel's back. He probably made a lot of enemies on his way to the top.

Part of me thinks this might just be a way for Japan to save face and get rid of Ghosn at the same time, given how high profile this case is. There's no indication that Ghosn was going to confess to the crime like they wanted

Nissan isn't just a Japanese company, it was also one of the original shinko zaibatsu, these conglomerates survived even after World War 2.

The possibility of giving full control of a zaibatsu to a gaijin company might have been too much for the old guard at Nissan.

Amid the challenge of electrification and falling sales for the auto industry as a whole, I wonder if they'll be able to find a local replacement who can take them through this decade.

I was saying nga *if* the prosecutors actually had a case against Ghosn, they wouldn't need to hold him for even a month, let alone 13. Derecho na dapat sa korte if they know na panalo sila.
Tapos solitary pa and 8 hours of interrogation every day. Obvious na they had no case and were trying to break him down so he makes his own guilty plea.

I hope the alliance between Renault & Nissan survives. If they separate then we will see Nissan close shop within the decade.

Wonder what Ghosn has to say with his ex-colleagues on that press conference

if i were him, i wouldn't single out nor mention any name.
    i will simply say, "nissan-the-company".
bahala na ang nissan execs to battle it out, who he was refering to.
