Exalta rattling sound at start up

Hello there fellow Tsikoter.
I just bought my 2000 exalta last July, 2011.
Since then, I replaced the following parts that broke down:
1. Alternator assembly (trade in from roadside shop)
2. Distributor assembly & Hi tension wire set (brand new from Nissan Gallery)
3. New battery
Since I bought a second hand and eleven year old car, I expect that
many parts will soon be replaced although not in succession.

This week, the car is making a loud rattling sound during start up.
After a few seconds, the rattling stop.
This happens lately every time I did a cold start.

Could you guys give me an advise what maybe is the cause of this rattling sound?
I really plan to bring this to the shop but I want to have some opinion especially from
those car owners who have this kind of experience.

is your valvetrain timing chain driven? what is your engine type and family? if the camshaft is chain driven, chances are the chain guides, tensioner and the timing chain are worn out

It could be valves or the timing chain. If the car is near or past 100,000 kilometers, then it might be the tensioner needs to be adjusted or replaced.
