January 31st, 2009 12:56 PM #11Just changed my camshaft, rocker arm, and rocker arm shaft.. Still the same.. Idk but most of the mechanics I talk to says its normal.. Idk..

February 15th, 2009 02:08 AM #15If he is a marine engineer then he should know that marine engine protocols would severely damage automotive engines using raw water, marine engine cooling system are constructed differently compared to automotive engine cooling system.
If he cant fix your problem, then you really have to get a automotive
mechanic maybe he cant tell the difference between a open or closed
cooling system. And most probably operates his fleet of 20 eagle engines
as raw water cooled engines.
Ang mekaniko na hindi maayos ang overheating e sobrang pulpul na yan.
Kahit pa me history na nang overheating yan, remove and replace lang
naman yan. Opinyon ko lang po.
Check po ninyo muna kung complete ang cooling system ninyo.
At isa pa huwag mo ipagawa sa hindi marunong engine mo.

you can also check blowby by running the engine and see how much steam are you getting from the opened oil cap or the oil dip stick...
you can also try removing your thermostat and bring it to your kitchen... boil it... measure it with a thermometer... check it if it opens and if it closes...
