diesels, unless they're high end exotics like bmw or other diesel euro marquee cars, aren't built or capable of sustained high speed operations. our auvs are people carriers, not grand touring machines...
sure you can run it to 150, but the point is, why would you want to? it's like saying, wow chong, i ran my L300 versa van to 160 kahapon sa star tollway... i overtook toyota MR2s and souped up SiRs, sibak sila lahat sa akin!!
use the right tool for the job, i say.

hehehe..eto problem sa ganitong thread.. i think gusto lang malaman talaga ng starter yung max speed na pwede maatain ng adventure..siyempre minsan sa life ng owner ng adventure or any sasakyan, tinitignan naman nya max capabilities ng sasakyan nya, kahit anu pa man yan..ako i do it for benchmarking purposes--to easily diagnose if ever something goes wrong in the future..kasi alam mo ang regular at capabilities ng sasakyan mo.knowing its limits makes you maximize your vehicle ownership..kaya ako, di ako sanay mag-"baby" ng sasakyan, kahit sariling ipon ko pa...kaya mo nga binili yung sasakyan para gamitin at di i-baby..unless "for show" lang talaga yung purpose mo..
i just attested na posible makareached ng ganung speed ang adventure by comparing to the nearest i had..but it doesnt mean i brag about it.. i just stating what is the maximum capabilities ng isang sasakyan.
saying the top speed is different from bragging. siyempre logically, only ricers and posers will say and brag na mas mabilis ang UV nila vs any sports car..
remembering: the nissan eagle pick-up na sumibak daw ng SIR, ung SIR na sumibak daw ng 2008 camry, ung mga naka wave 100/125 na kung humataw parang sisibak ng cbr1100...

hehe, i am guilty as charged your honor, hehe
sometimes i run as fast as i dare just for the heck of it (w/c means, 120-140 TOPS). sometimes i do it for show too, but, i always keep in mind the maximum allowable based on the sound of the engine, handling, etc. in all my vehicles, this is always 120-140, whatever the speedometer's limit is.
unless you drive a bugatti veyron, or a ferrari F355, local, puny, stock econoboxes of any make or model will always run the ragged edge of performance limit of maybe 150. bawasan ng 10% pag diesel. any higher and it's either unsafe for both man and machine.

yung 140 KPH kaya yun sa medyo downhill tsaka long stretch talaga. pero yung 160 kph baka downhill na ng konti yun pero di pa rin ako makapaniwala kasi ang pinakamabilis na nagawa ko was 125 kph sa deretso mga 40 secs-1mins before ko to makuha. takot akong tumaas pa ang rpm eh. yung 125kph apat ang sakay with a/c. pero sarap pa rin ng 4d56 engine wala akong problema sa makina.

March 27th, 2008 01:41 AM #18I drive a 2005 Adventure GLS Sport 2.5L Diesel dati. Max speed ko na 120 KPH at around 4K RPM sa Star Tollway. Kahit anong gawin ko, ayaw na lumagpas doon.

April 9th, 2008 11:56 PM #20I own a 2007 Mitsubishi Adventure GLX - Bought last September 2007.. I wanted to bench mark it's max speed then.. I got a max speed of 155 km/h at around 4k RPM sa North Expressway.. I think un na ang pinaka max nung sakin kasi kahit naka floor na accelerator ayaw na niyang bumilis pa.. Naka on aircon and ako lang ang sakay.. anyway.. once ko lang na try and ayaw ko na ulitin ulit.. strictly for benchmarking purposes lang talaga..
Neither's mine. 3 yrs old and no issues whatsoever. Initial 2 PMS lang sa casa, the rest is OC...
