hi guys, i have a question regarding our alarm. I noticed that when the engine is on and you press the lock/arm button on the alarm it doesn't work. But open/off button works and it opens the locks on the doors.
You see, I have this problem whenever I turn off the engine and go out of my MS, I installed a turbo timer and everytime I go out of the car, I can't arm the alarm or close the doors.
I know it's possible to do this since our other car can do it as well. But the alarm used is not code alarm, which MS uses.
Any guys have the same experience?
oh btw, even without the turbo timer before, it stil doesn't lock the doors when the engine is still running and you press the lock button on the alarm remote.

January 1st, 2009 10:22 AM #973Had installed a turbo timer too and when i press the lock button after getting out, the doors will lock while the engine is still running. I think you have to activate the door locks feature of the alarm (baka naka-valet parking mode ka?). Scan thru your code alarm manual on how to turn this feature on. While at it, you may want to activate the doors lock feature that unlock the doors when you turn the ignition off and lock it when you turn on the ignition key. Hope this one helps . . . .

Bro thanks for the tip. However yun nga prob ko eh. Wala kasi kasamang manual yung remote ko. I already asked for a copy pero wala pa daw talaga. Iloilo Branch kasi so medyo matagal na wala pa ring manual.
Is there an online manual for it? para kahit download ko nalng sana.

Btw, it does lock when you start the car and it unlocks when you turn off the ignition.
But I just can't seem to lock it while the engine is still on. Even without the TurboTimer before.

January 2nd, 2009 02:42 AM #978Bro,
I recalled someone goggled code alarm in this forum or sa strada and was able to get some info on their web site. Me, kinulit ko ang casa to furnish me the manual. I have the impression that the casa is keeping the manual so that you will have to keep going back to them if something has to be done on your alarm system. In my previous purchases with other brands, the alarm manual were given together with the car, aircon and sound systems manuals. I find this practice of leaving out the alarm manual quite inappropriateas these were installed as brand-new items and thus, the manual should be given to the owner by mitsu casa.
Before the tt installation, I did not try to lock the doors from the outside using the remote. I only tried it after the tt was installed and it was able to lock the doors while the engine was running. Better have that checked as it defeats the purpose of having a turbo timer (ie., being able to walk away with the alarm already activated while the engine is running under time delay).

Yeah, I agree Casa should really provide the manual. This is what I really miss sa Toyota. Eventhough I wasn't pulling any strings sa Toyota, my requests are always met.
Mitsu service here in Iloilo plainly sucks. But, just because I love The MS i went through and got it, eventhough alam ko na palpak minsan service nila sa tao. I even called them up to inform them that my plates sa LTO are ready. They aren't doing their job really well.
Back to topic, I just wish they could at least provide me with a manual soon. It really defeats the purpose of having a Timer since I still have to wait for 30sec to lock the car.
thanks bro.

Happy New Year to Everyone.
Green Hornet: Same lang. My keys and remote are separate. It's just that I've been informed that there is a chip inside our keys that act as an engine immobilizer. That is, only keys with the immobilizer chip can start our vehicles.
So if you have your keys dupicated outside casa, the duplicate key will of course not have the chip and you will not be able to use it to start the car at all. Sure, you can open the doors with the duplicate key, but that is all you can do with it.
Hope that is clear.
