How much did you get the seatcovers for? How's the work of seatmate?

    Thanks!

lea128.. girl's perpective on what? I don't know if there's any girl members here, but definitely i've spoken to a girl in the last trans show that was really into the montero.. she told me she did some audio mods on hers as well and i think is planning to do exteriors next.
But for me, i think it doesn't matter if your a guy or a girl, it really depends on the person's preference, i've met girls who are into cars and likes an even more aggressive look than myself. So it really depends.

i know this is not a montero, but since we're on the topic of leather seats, my bro just had his car done last week at leder interia... and here's how it came out:

I'm pretty much done with my exterior.. unless lowering springs come out in the very near future, but that seems very unlikely. So for those who missed the transport show.. this is pretty much it for my exterior.

    for now.....

thanks for the comment NTYcE. i was really more interested in driving and handling considerations. like, is it easy to drive, park, etc? im used to driving a 4x4 crv so this is definitely a bigger car for me. im kinda worried if i can handle it. plus, most of the times, it will just be me in the car, so will it be bumpy if not enough load? this will also be my first diesel car if ever, so does it really need a longer time to warm up before i can start driving?

i am not into mods yet since im not a car enthusiast in that sense. but hey, maybe if i hang around here all the time, i may get the hang of mods and other stuffs too. thanks.

^ yeah.. i wanted black accents or even black rims, since that was the original plan to even before the car came. hehehe pero there's no black rims, and i think it would be a hassle to import. Plus these are dropstars, so i'm happy... upgrade to 24s and brand i guess. I am now more careful. I had to change rims for the show since the old rims were from my sponsor's competitor. hehehe kaya chip in a little nalang since sponsored price. I guess its like upgrading from gibi shoes to a pair of kenneth cole shoes... we're not quite on the ferragamo / prada level yet. hehehe

    Thanks always for the complement!

I guess it really depends on what kind of a driver you are. My wife drives a mini SUV also and use to drive my car and it wasn't that big a deal to her. (now she doesn't drive it because she's scared she might scratch the rims and chin). It is bigger and longer, the hardest part adjusting would probably be during parking. But the diesel or the load isn't a big deal.. i haven't tested the 2.5, but definitely the 3.2 is stronger than the crv at higher revs. At low revs, you'd feel that its sluggish since the car is heavier and bigger. Unless you have the crv 3 generations ago, then ignore my last statement and definitely you will love the extra power.

As for the ride, you don't need to load to make the ride nicer, we're not a fortuner... (sorry fortuner members, just my personal observation in suspension). When i first drove my montero, i felt like i was riding a car in terms of its suspension and stiffness/bouciness. You don't have to load it to make the ride feel better. But i know what you are talking about, that what they do with fortuners, pickups, and some american vans.

It was my first diesel too.. I see many different trains of thoughts in this forum regarding the stoping and starting... for me, just warm up the car in the morning, or when you drive off at first, don't turn on the a/c and don't blast the radio so it generates momentum and power. As for the stopping, people have installed turbo timers or some wait 30secs-1mins idle before shutting off their engines. For me, before i get to my destination, i just slow down and don't rev to high.. as long as you're not going 100km or more until your destination you should be fine, just take your time turning off the a/c and radio then shut off the engine. For example, i live in a subdivision, so when i get in the gates, i just slow down so by the time i get to my house, there won't be that much oil left in the turbo hoses so its safe to shut off.. just be religious and have it regularly maintained properly.

Hope that has help even a bit.. let me or us know how else we can help.
